Luxembourg City Highlights

Walls of the Corniche

Also known as ‘the most beautiful balcony in Europe’, the spectacular Walls of the Corniche rise above the river valley and offer incredible views. As you stroll along the walls you can view the Grund District below, with its impressive gate and stone buildings.

Old Quarter

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, the city’s Old Quarter was once one of Europe’s largest fortresses, and you can still view many gates, forts, bastions and casemates. It’s the perfect area to spend a few hours exploring, with its beautifully landscapes gardens, cobbled streets and historic bridges.

Bock Casemates

An expansive complex of subterranean tunnels, the Bock Casemates are all that remains of Luxembourg's mighty fortifications. Dating back to 1644, they were capable of sheltering thousands of troops, along with weapons, horses and much more. Many of the tunnels can still be explored – perfect for uncovering the fascinating history that surrounds them!
