We head to the Renaissance city of Florence. Explore the endless historic sights in and around the centuries-old Ponte Vecchio. See the Piazza del Duomo and visit the Cathedral of Florence and the Baptisitery. Our optional sightseeing tour by coach and on foot will allow you to get the most out of your visit. We then continue to our hotel in Tuscany for a seven-night stay.

We start our day visiting Montepulciano. The dignified Renaissance character of the town is reflected in the countless exquisite palaces which line the streets.
Enjoy the historical flair of the gorgeous Piazza Grande before we continue on to Pienza, where we will visit a pecorino cheese producer and take the opportunity to sample the wonderful cheese.
We then make our way to Bagno Vignoni. Unlike many towns, where a square dominates the centre, here you will find a large thermal pool. In medieval times, and during the Renaissance, Bagno Vignoni was a beautiful thermal spa.
The picturesque setting of this small spa has attracted many famous artists and film makers ever since.

Today we will discover the splendid town of Cortona, one of the most important cities of the ancient Etruscans. Enclosed by stone walls, the town boasts a dominant position overlooking the Chiana Valley, offering spectacular views.
We will enjoy a traditional lunch of local produce in Cortona.

We begin the day with a visit to the town of San Gimignano. This medieval town owes its famous skyline to the rival families who tried to outdo each other by building taller and taller towers. Of the original 76 towers only 13 still survive today.
You will have time at leisure before continuing to the alabaster city of Volterra. A former Etruscan settlement, the town is known for its stunning location and spectacular scenery.
During the day, we enjoy a visit to a local wine cellar including a fantastic tasting.

Join us as we take a nostalgic steam train journey through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to the charming medieval town of Montalcino.
On arrival in Montalcino, we will join the locals in their traditional 'Sagra del Tordo’ (Song of the Thrush) festival. Crowds of people flock to the town every year to view the spectacle of the medieval competition, and to enjoy the specialities on offer, all set up in the shadow of the town’s fortifications.
There is a huge range of locally sourced food on offer, all accompanied by the great red wines of Montalcino. A real treat for the taste buds!

Today we visit the quintessential Tuscan town of Certaldo, which you will discover with our local guide.
The beautiful hilltop citadel boasts sweeping views across the surrounding countryside and is reached by a short funicular train journey. The medieval walled town is home to some wonderfully preserved architecture including the Priori Palace.
We include a visit to a ceramics workshop today.

Today we visit the picturesque Tuscan town of Siena.
Centred on the Piazza del Campo, the town has worked hard to preserve its Gothic architecture. The stunning town centre is listed by UNESCO as one of the world's most significant historic sites. Whilst in Siena, we include a walking tour of this important art city before continuing to the medieval town of Monteriggioni.
A small, walled town, Monteriggioni is known for its medieval fortifications and watchtowers.
