Historic Kent for New Year

Start your New Year in style with a stay at the Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club. Set amidst 350 acres of beautiful grounds in the East Sussex countryside, enjoy a fantastic blend of stunning surroundings and modern touches. Make your own way to our hotel, where you will meet an experienced Tour Manager. Enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner served in the hotel’s restaurant.

After breakfast, our coach takes us to the quaint town of Tenterden. Nestled in the heart of the Weald of Kent, the town is both historic and charming, having escaped much modern development. From the picturesque high street, you can admire the impressive tower of the 12th-century Parish Church of St Mildred.

Whilst in Tenterden, we enjoy a return journey on the Kent & East Sussex Railway. Take in the beautiful countryside views as you sit back and relax in your carriage. The journey will take you to Northiam, where the steam engine will take water before winding back to Tenterden.

We return to the hotel this afternoon with time to relax before beginning our New Year’s Eve celebrations. Enjoy a glass on bubbly on arrival followed by a 5-course meal. After dinner, there will be a disco and dancing until late, with another glass of bubbly at midnight to welcome in the New Year.

Tenterden Kent & East Sussex Railway

Happy New Year! We start the day with a leisurely breakfast and a relaxing morning in the hotel.

This afternoon, our coach takes us to Hever Castle, an iconic 13th-century moated fortress and Anne Boleyn's childhood home. Bought and restored by William Waldorf Astor in 1903, the castle now showcases a stunning collection of art, tapestries, and antique furniture. The extensive gardens are beautifully designed, from the exquisite Italian garden with its sculptures and lake to the Tudor Garden and Anne Boleyn’s walk. During the festive period, the castle is adorned with twinkling lights, while the beautiful, traditionally decorated rooms boast wonderful trees and welcoming log fires. After plenty of time to explore, we head back to the hotel for our evening meal.
