Considered by many one of the most stunning castles in Europe, The Peles Castle is a masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture. Commissioned by King Carol I in 1873, the castle served as the summer residence of the royal family until 1947. After the visit, we travel to Brasov, known as the Crown of Transylvania. We’ll enjoy a walking tour of Brasov starting at the Council Square, built by the Saxons; You’ll also see one of the narrowest streets in Europe: the Rope Street. This morning we travel by coach towards Bran, where you will discover Dracula’s Castle. Hidden in the hilly forest of Bran and surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend, the castle was built by the German Saxons in the 14th century and served as customs for many centuries between Transylvania and Wallachia. In 1920 the castle became Royal Residence, offered as a gift by the people of Brasov to Queen Maria of Romania. Now world widely known for being the place where Bram Stoker's fictional creation, Count Dracula is set, the castle is the most visited place in Transylvania. We continue to Sighisoara, a small city founded by the Transylvanian Saxons in the 12th century. The medieval fortress with nine towers, cobbled streets, colourful houses is still inhabited and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our walking tour begins at the Clock Tower, which is the landmark of Sighisoara. You’ll also see the birthplace of count Dracula and the Church on the Hill. After the city tour, we transfer to Sibiu, one of the larger cities in Transylvania where we check-in for our two-night stay.

The drivers were brilliant. Josh and Chris. The only downside was the staff at our Hanover hotel and lack of choice for the evening meal was very poor. over all a good first time experience

Leger make the holiday experience so easy, everything is done for you so all you have to do is enjoy your time away. The drivers are excellent, not only with regard to their motoring skills but also their customer relations. We felt secure in the knowledge that if any problems arose then we would have the help, experience and support of the drivers. They went above and beyond what is expected, to ensure we got the most out of our holiday.

Tour drivers were fantastic, very professional. Markets were a little hit and miss. Metz not easy to find/ navigate, and with limited time there to access all areas. Loved the Black Forest, Titisee Lake and Freiburg market. My favourite and by far the best was Colmar, this should have been included in tour price, not as an extra. Strasbourg very disappointed, we arrived an hour before market even opened and had to leave 1.5 hours later, no time to see it all and have lunch. Very long arduous journeys to unnecessarily far out hotels. German hotel was clean/ presentable but food/ menu of very poor quality. 1st French hotel was very nice and could get a meal. Last hotel (France) of the trip was clean and presentable but food situation was shocking. With no time to eat at Strasbourg, a very long journey to hotel, only restaurant a good 20 minutes walk away and food options very limited at hotel itself, really ruined this experience for me. My food at that hotel I wouldn’t have given to my dog and I did complain to staff. Going forward. Long journeys to far /out of the way hotels seriously need to be addressed. On long journeys tea and coffee should be freely available (of course expected charges for alcohol, etc) another point of note: Limited times in markets, often arriving before opening mean we never actually get to see the beautifully lit up markets as depicted in your brochures.
