Today, we embark on a breathtaking journey through the heart of Cairo's treasures. Our sightseeing adventures take us to the illustrious Pyramids of Giza, where we are awestruck by these ancient wonders. The enigmatic Sphinx awaits us, ready to share its mysteries.

Today, we embark on a full-day excursion by train to Alexandria, a city steeped in history and brimming with charm – prepare to be amazed as we explore its iconic landmarks. Our tour includes the fascinating Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an underground necropolis filled with intriguing sculptures and architectural wonders. We'll also marvel at Pompey's Pillar, a towering monument that is a testament to the city's rich past. A visit to the Montaza Palace, with its exquisite gardens and panoramic views, offers a serene retreat from the bustling city. Lastly, we'll go to the famous Alexandria Library, a beacon of knowledge and a symbol of Alexandria's intellectual heritage.
We'll return to the train station in the evening to catch the train back to Cairo for our overnight stay.

This morning, we explore Cairo's oldest street, steeped in centuries of history. Enjoy a tranquil morning as you visit Islamic mosques, away from the usual crowds. Our local experts will be your guides, providing access to exclusive sites not typically available to regular tourists. After your exploration, indulge in a traditional Egyptian breakfast which includes fried potatoes, falafel, ful (a bean dish), fried eggs, tahini, and freshly baked pita bread. Following breakfast, you'll head to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a historic market where you can shop for unique items and immerse yourself in local culture. We then visit Old Cairo and its Coptic sites, tracing our steps back to the beginning, and exploring narrow streets filled with history. Our quest for knowledge continues at the Egyptian Museum before we make our way to the train station to catch the overnight first-class Talgo train to Aswan.

On arrival in Aswan this morning, you will head to witness the breathtaking views that reveal the grandeur of the High Dam, the grace of the Low Dam, and the majesty of the Unfinished Obelisk. Our next stop is the charming Temple of Philae, a sanctuary on the island dedicated to the goddess Isis. In the afternoon, we head to our Nile cruise ship and check in. We enjoy lunch on board before we set sail on a traditional felucca. As the felucca glides on the tranquil waters, you will explore the charming Island of Aswan and the mystical Elephantine Island, where history whispers in every breeze. Later, a boat ride will take you to the legendary Old Cataract, where you can enjoy serenity on the same terrace that once hosted the famous Agatha Christie for her afternoon tea. We then return to our ship where we enjoy dinner this evening.

Today, you have the option to rise early for a captivating journey to Abu Simbel by car, returning at lunchtime. Otherwise, enjoy a leisurely day aboard your cruise ship, where you can enjoy lunch while sailing to Kom Ombo. This afternoon, we explore the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple before continuing our voyage to Edfu Temple. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Edfu, enveloped in the enchanting ambiance of Egypt's heritage, adorned in a traditional jalabiya.

On arrival into Cairo, we travel by coach to the Sekem Eco Village, where we have breakfast on arrival. Sekem is a thriving community that has miraculously transformed a barren desert into a sustainable and environmentally friendly oasis since its inception in 1977. Under the guidance of an experienced leader, you'll venture into Sekem’s lush fields, gaining profound insights into their groundbreaking approach to sustainable living and their positive influence on both the environment and local communities. Your visit also plays a role in supporting the Egyptian Organic Agriculture Association, which champions organic farming practices and contributes to a healthier agricultural industry in Egypt. After an organic lunch at the Community Restaurant, take time to explore the village's shop. Here, you'll discover a diverse range of items crafted from organic cotton, including bags, t-shirts, and children's clothing. The shop also showcases handmade crafts and food products, with a remarkable 80% of these community creations being exported, thereby enhancing the quality of life for its members, and nurturing a spirit of sustainability. We enjoy our final evening meal tonight.

You will stay for three nights at the 4-star Baron Hotel in Cairo, one night on board the first-class Talgo train from Cairo to Aswan, three nights on board the 4-star Champollion II Nile Cruise, one night on board the first-class Talgo train from Luxor to Cairo and one night at the Sekem Eco Village in Cairo.
The 4-star MS Champollion II has a restaurant, bar, sun terrace, outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, gym and free wifi. All cabins have panoramic windows that can be opened, private bathroom, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and a minibar.

The 4-star Baron Hotel is situated in Heliopolis, opposite the Baron Empain Palace and is approximately 10 miles from the centre of Cairo. The hotel has an elegant restaurant, a bar, café and a spa area with plunge pool and gym. Bedrooms are spacious and have air-conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and ensuite bathroom.

Sekem is a thriving community that has been transformed from a barren desert into a sustainable and environmentally friendly oasis since its conception in 1977. It’s a rejuvenating experience where you’ll enjoy organic food and escape from the hustle and bustle of Cairo. The guesthouse is surrounded by shady walks and green fields and has 32 bedrooms with balcony and wifi. The restaurant serves food prepared from Organic products from the farm and there’s also an outdoor swimming pool.

Sit back and relax in your 1st class seat aboard the modern air-conditioned Talgo Train. Each carriage has 24 seats and there is a small luggage storage area available – you can also store small bags above the seats. Each seat has a USB port, headphone socket, 2 x European power sockets and an at seat entertainment screen. Meals, snacks, and drinks are not included on the Talgo Train and can be purchased on board in the buffet car or the trolley service.
