Admire the diverse German countryside through which the mighty Rhine flows. With its fairy tale castles, half-timbered houses and the multitude of vineyards, the area is not just a treat for the eyes, it is also Germany’s most famous wine growing area. On this magnificent escorted tour, we will also spend time exploring the gentle, meandering Moselle. Throughout our time in Germany, we will be based at our 4-star superior hotel, the Maritim Konigswinter, which enjoys a superb location on the banks of the Rhine.
Local departure by coach then to Germany for a four night stay.
Today, we head first to the charming riverside town of Boppard known for its excellent wines, attractive shops and flower filled Rhine promenades.
With its hills, valleys, quiet lanes and lively squares this once Roman fort is a true gem of the Rhine Valley.
We then make the short journey to the medieval town of Koblenz. A splendid photographic opportunity awaits us at the ‘Deutsches Eck’ where the Rhine meets the Moselle and free time to discover the main sights and sounds of Koblenz.
