Included excursion to Bremen, whose Christmas Market is considered to be one of the most attractive in Germany. In the run-up to Christmas, the city centre around the town hall and the Roland Statue is transformed into an atmospheric Christmas Market with more than 170 festively decorated stalls. The Christmas market also extends along the Weser River where winter maritime tradition and historical Bremen are the themes on the Schlachte promenade. What could be more festive than strolling amongst the stalls, booths and chalets, enjoying the aromas of freshly roasted almonds, gingerbread and glühwein?

Included excursion to Hamburg. Home to one of the most important harbours in Europe, Hamburg takes great pride in its mercantile background and this is reflected in its architecture. During the festive period, the town hall becomes the backdrop for its Christmas Market and the smell of mulled wine and roasted almonds fills the air. Many of the booths are in the form of timber framed houses. There will be ample free time for you to discover the charms of this beautiful market and perhaps purchase a present or two.

Join our included excursion to the Old Hanseatic City of Lϋbeck. Gothic red brick architecture, festive Christmas lights and beautifully decorated Christmas trees conjure up a magical atmosphere on Lübeck’s Old Town Island. The scent of honey roasted almonds, spiced wine, herb goodies and grilled sausages fills the air. Enjoy time exploring the markets located next to the Town Hall and also at Koberg. You will find more than 150 small Christmas stalls offering hand-made wooden toys and Christmas tree decorations. Enjoy a glass of warming mulled wine whilst you shop for those all-important gifts.

We leave our hotel and head to the cathedral city of Cologne, with the opportunity to visit some of the Christmas markets. Advent magic spreads throughout Cologne at this time of year, when numerous idyllic Christmas markets open their gates to visitors. More than 160 stalls offer traditional goods and handcrafted gifts. Wonderful spicy aromas of cinnamon stars, baked apples and roasted almonds will fill the air and local wreath binders, glassblowers and blacksmiths will demonstrate their art. Continue to Belgium for an overnight stay.
