Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service and we continue towards Newcastle for our overnight crossing to the Netherlands.
We have an included meal package on board, featuring an extensive buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Afterwards, enjoy the variety of other facilities on board, including bars and live entertainment.

We depart our ferry and travel to the ground west of Arnhem where the initial landings for Operation Market Garden took place in September 1944. We see the Drop Zone at Ginkel Heath with its memorials and then go into Oosterbeek for our lunchtime period.
We then visit the museum in the Hartenstein Hotel, which was the Airborne Headquarters in 1944. We look at some of the Oosterbeek Perimeter positions here, including the famous foxhole where the mortar crew was filmed, before ending the day at Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery where the dead from the battle are buried.
We then continue to our hotel in the Arnhem area for two nights.

This morning, we visit the Groesbeek Memorial which commemorates those who fell at Arnhem and in Germany who have no known grave. We then travel into nearby Germany to visit the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, the largest WW2 British War Cemetery in Europe, looking at the fighting during Operation Veritable and discovering some of the many stories of those buried here.
After lunchtime in Kleve, we go into the Rhineland and see where the British and Canadian forces took part in Operations Plunder and Varsity in March 1945 visiting Rees and Wesel, as well as the British 6th Airborne landing zones.

We begin back in Oosterbeek, visit the Old Church used in 1944, and see where the evacuation took place at the end of the battle. We then examine the story of John Baskeyfield VC and see his memorial, before following the route into Arnhem visiting St Elizabeth’s Hospital and ending at the iconic Arnhem Bridge.
Enjoy lunchtime in Arnhem and some free time before we continue to Ijmuiden for our return overnight crossing to the UK. We have an included meal package on board, featuring extensive buffets for breakfast and dinner.
