The murder of more than six million Jews during the Second World War remains one of the darkest but defining aspects of the conflict. On this new tour we look at some key aspects of the Holocaust in the area that was German occupied Poland during WW2 and examine the experience of war for the Polish people. We tour the terrifyingly massive Auschwitz Concentration Camp, go to Oscar Schindler’s Factory and discover the story of Schindler’s List. We also walk the Krakow Ghetto and see the Museum of the Polish Home Army.

    Fly to Poland where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a four night stay.

    We start our tour in Kraków having an in-depth look at the Kraków Ghetto seeing the ‘chairs’ memorial, the old Chemist shop and the buildings where Jewish families lived. After lunch we visit the Oscar Schindler Factory; immortalised in the film Schindler’s List, Oscar was able to save many Jews being used as slave labour in his factory, which is now a museum. We then visit the site of Plaszow Concentration Camp, seeing the memorial.

    Today we travel to Auschwitz, the most notorious and deadly of the Concentration Camps in German occupied Poland. We spend time in Auschwitz 1 where the workers were detained, seeing the many museum items and exhibitions. We then go walk the massive Auschwitz-Berkenau site, where the huge scale and human cost of the Holocaust is apparent. A moving day studying one of the most iconic locations connected to the Holocaust.

    We start today in Kraków and visit the museum of the Polish Home forces. We then visit the British Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery at Kraków which includes the graves of British Prisoners of War who died in POW camps in German occupied Poland. In the afternoon you have free-time to explore central Kraków.

    You will stay for four nights at 3-star Legend Hotel in the heart of the Old Town of Krakow. This new hotel, situated in an excellent location next to Wawel Hill offers a restaurant and small fitness room. All bedrooms are furnished with modern facilities.


    Please note K5PKH/2 on 23 October will stay for four nights in Krakow at the 3-star Hotel Wyspianski. The hotel enjoys an enviable location, only 500 metres from Krakow’s beautiful Market Square, the city’s historical and cultural centre. Krakow Old Town, the Jewish Quarter and Wawel Castle are all within walking distance. This large hotel has a restaurant and bar and all bedrooms have T.V. and hairdryer.

    The 3 Star Wyspianski hotel is located 500m away from the market square in Krakow. The hotel is modern and stylish with great access to the major attractions in the centre of Krakow such as Old Town, the market square and the Jewish Quarter. With only a short 10-15minute walk away from the train and bus station and the airport and highway also a short drive away. The hotels facilities include luggage room, safe at reception, a restaurant and a bar. All bedrooms feature T.V, radio, hairdryer, Wi-Fi/Internet access and en-suite bathroom.

    We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.

    We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
