Itinerary
Please choose your preferred 5 day itinerary
Local departure by coach, then to Belgium or northern France for a four night stay.
We start today on the Battlefields of Flanders seeing Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest British Cemetery in the world. We then travel to Hill 60 to look at an area of preserved battlefield, seeing bunkers and mine craters, and then visit Hooge Crater for our lunch, with a chance to see the superb museum. This afternoon we head to Ypres and enjoy free time. In the evening, we attend the moving Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.

Today we go into northern France and visit the Indian Corps Memorial at Neuve-Chapelle, which commemorates over 4,500 Indian Army soldiers with no known grave. We then look at the Battle of Fromelles seeing the Australian Memorial Park, Pheasant Wood Cemetery made after the recovery of a mass grave here many decades after WW1 and VC Corner Cemetery. We then travel into Lille, where we spend time browsing the stalls of one of France’s largest Christmas Markets.

Accommodation
You will stay for four nights in a minimum 3-star hotel such as the Hotel Alize in Mouscron, the Horizon Ath-Lessines in Ghislenghien or the Hotel Des Acacias Lille Tourcoing in Neuville-en-Ferrain.
Due to demand, alternative hotels may be used, such as the Ibis Albert or similar.
Hotel & Aparthotel Alizé Mouscron
The 4-star Alizé Hotel Mouscron is located in the heart of Mouscron, only a short walk from the Mouscron Market Place, where a selection of bars and restaurants can be found. The hotel features a bar, and all rooms are equipped with a TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and a fridge. Please note: This hotel does not have its own restaurant.
