2015 is the 125th anniversary of the death of Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890). Join us as we visit some of the major exhibitions to celebrate his life and works. Various activities and exhibitions will take place in the towns where Van Gogh lived and worked during his life, and also in museums where his works are displayed.

Local departure by coach, then to Holland for a three-night stay.
Today we include a full-day excursion to the Van Gogh Village and Vincentre in Nuenen. This superb museum will be like walking in the great artist’s footsteps. You can walk where Van Gogh once walked, sit where he once sat, and still see what he once saw. A unique feature of Nuenen and the surroundings is that it can be viewed as an Outdoor Museum with many reminders of Van Gogh. The Outdoor Museum comprises no fewer than 21 locations, all of which have a direct bearing on Van Gogh’s two-year stay in Nuenen.

Today, we include a full-day excursion to Amsterdam, with entrance included to the Van Gogh Museum which houses the largest collection of his work – more than 200 paintings and over 400 drawings. A visit to the Van Gogh Museum is a unique experience and the design of the building itself is something to admire. The museum allows you to trace the artist’s developments, and compare his paintings to works by other artists from the 19th century in the collection.
To Calais, then return home.
