Today on our included excursion we first visit Arona, where you will have time at leisure to enjoy the grand architecture and cosmopolitan atmosphere. We continue to Lake Maggiore and the resort of Baveno.
Here we take a short boat ride on the lake which takes us to the opulent resort town of Stresa. We sail past the beautiful Borromean Islands, which lie at the centre of the lake and are fine examples of natural beauty enhanced by landscaped gardens and parks.

Today, our included excursion takes us to Milan, where you can spend the day at leisure exploring all the city has to offer. Milan shares its title as one of the Fashion Capitals of the world with London, New York, Paris and Tokyo.
To get the most from your visit, why not join our optional guided walking tour? Accompanied by our local guide we see sights such as the Castello Sforzesco and the magnificent Gothic-style Duomo, the seat of the Archbishop of Milan. We also see the Galleria, a covered double arcade connecting Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala. Finally, we conclude our tour with a short visit to La Scala Theatre, one of the world’s most famous opera houses (entrance included).

Today, for those passengers who have pre-booked, our optional excursion takes you to the world famous resort of St. Moritz. Sporting life has always been an important part of St. Moritz, and over 100 years ago the first British visitors used to stage Toboggan races in the streets.
There will be a short amount of time for you to explore before we board the Bernina Regional Railway and cross one of the highest railroad lines in the Alps. As we approach the Swiss / Italian border, we travel over the Brusio spiral viaduct, an amazing feat of engineering that allows the train to gradually descend 20 metres in a relatively short distance.
We arrive in Tirano, a quaint Italian town, where we spend a short amount of free time before returning to our hotel.
A ride on the Bernina Regional Railway is highly recommended and extremely popular, therefore we recommend that this excursion is booked in advance. Please ask for details when booking this holiday.

We travel to the centre of Como town on our optional excursion. With a long history you can see many highlights from the town's past including medieval walls, towers and streets and a cathedral that took almost 400 years to complete! Como produces 80% of Europe’s silk and there are many boutiques in the centre selling high quality silk merchandise. There is also the regular market, which takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We continue over the border into Switzerland and to the beautiful town of Lugano. Be sure to visit Via Nassa, one of town’s historical streets and Lugano’s number one shopping destination. Its elegant and sophisticated atmosphere is not to be missed.

A fantastic included excursion to beautiful Milan where there will be free time for you to explore the city that shares its title as one of the Fashion Capitals of the world with London, New York, Paris and Tokyo. To introduce you to the sights, why not join our optional sightseeing tour where you will discover the historical and artistic heart of Milan? Bergamo can be found in Lombardy, situated in the foothills of the Alps and with a wonderful atmosphere that combines the city’s heritage with its modern attitude. There’s so much to do here - Bergamo boasts two centres, the Upper City (Citta Alta) and the Lower City (Citta Bassa).
In the Upper City you can uncover Bergamo’s history, with the 14th-century Citadel, Bergamo Cathedral and numerous museums. In the Lower City, discover Bergamo’s cosmopolitan heart. Here, there’s an art gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art, as well as an excellent shopping district ideal for buying souvenirs and gifts.

Lake Como was beautiful and the ferry boats were frequent.Some if the excusions were not worth the money and the coach to and from desinations were too long.the hotel was good but there was an issue with some of the food especialy the meat courses which were not always edible.Other than the issues found we enjoyed our time there. The drivers Graham and Nick were very professional and friendly and knowledgeable.

Holiday was everything we hoped for except the food at the hotel. Food was tasteless and nearly always lukewarm or cold tinned potatoes weren't very nice either. Otherwise, hotel, staff and accommodation were excellent. Coach drivers really looked after us very well, hats off to Nick and Graham for negotiating those narrow roads and hairpin bends so well. Would travel with them again any day! Thanks for a lovely 20th wedding anniversary holiday 👍🙂🙂
