It is also home to the famous Barrio de la Estación, where some of Spain’s most iconic wines have been produced for generations. From Haro we explore the rolling vineyards and timeless villages that define La Rioja, including a visit to vibrant Logroño, famed for its lively tapas scene and atmospheric old quarter.
Journey onwards to the Basque coast, where San Sebastián awaits with its golden beaches and refined charm. Here, you’ll unwind by the sea while discovering one of Spain’s most celebrated food destinations, known for its exceptional pintxos. Regional departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to Plymouth for the overnight crossing to Santander.
Please note: when you board the ferry at Plymouth, you will require a small overnight bag containing any essential items such as medication. This small bag (no larger than a small rucksack) is counted as part of your overall luggage allowance.
Upon arrival in Santander, we travel to Haro in northern Spain for a four-night stay.

Today we include a visit to Logroño and the Rioja Alta region, which offer a perfect blend of vibrant local culture and world-renowned winemaking traditions. In Logroño, you’ll step into a city that effortlessly combines historic charm with a dynamic food scene. Stroll through the atmospheric old quarter, where elegant squares and centuries-old churches sit alongside bustling tapas bars. The famous Calle Laurel offers the true spirit of the region and you can take time to sample an array of pintxos paired with exceptional local wines.
Beyond the city, the journey into Rioja Alta reveals the landscapes that have made this region one of Spain’s most celebrated wine-producing areas. Rolling vineyards stretch across gentle hills, dotted with picturesque villages. Returning to Haro, we visit the famous Vivanco Museum and enjoy a tasting!

Our included excursion today visits Burgos, once the capital of the Kingdom of Castile. This fascinating city is renowned for its architectural splendour, cultural legacy, and deeply rooted traditions. An excursion to Burgos feels like stepping into a quieter, deeply historic corner of Spain, where medieval streets, grand architecture and rich food culture come together.
Our included city tour gives an overview of the breathtaking Burgos Cathedral (admission not included), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explores the streets, lined with stone buildings, small squares, and inviting cafés.
Afterwards enjoy free time to perhaps discover the Castillo de Burgos, where the ruins offer sweeping views over the city’s rooftops and countryside beyond. No visit to Burgos is complete without indulging in the fantastic food scene. The city is famous for Morcilla de Burgos, a rich, spiced blood sausage often served grilled or in tapas. Pair it with a glass of local Ribera del Duero wine, and you'll get a true taste of the region!

A day at leisure in Haro allows you to enjoy the charm of La Rioja’s wine capital. Wander through the historical centre, where elegant squares, narrow streets and centuries-old buildings reflect the town’s rich heritage. Stop by local cafés and tapas bars to sample traditional Riojan flavours at your own pace. Renowned for bodegas, explore the famous Barrio de la Estación with its impressive collection of wineries. Art, culture, and history are also abundant, from charming churches to historic monuments.
This evening, perhaps choose to enjoy a leisurely meal at a traditional restaurant, pairing local cuisine with world-class Rioja wines.

We depart Haro, travelling to San Sebastián, and make an enroute visit to Pamplona. Here you'll find a captivating mix of history, culture and vibrant city life in the heart of Navarre. Famous worldwide for its annual San Fermín festival and the thrilling running of the bulls, the city has much to offer.
Stroll through the atmospheric streets of the historic old town, where medieval walls, elegant squares and centuries-old churches showcase Pamplona’s rich heritage. Key highlights include the Plaza del Castillo, a bustling central square perfect for people-watching and enjoying local cafés. We continue onwards to San Sebastián for a three-night stay.

Enjoy a full day to discover this wonderful destination! You might choose to explore the historic Parte Vieja, where narrow streets are lined with bustling pintxos bars and traditional shops. Sample the city’s culinary treasures, from bite-sized pintxos to Michelin-starred creations, and enjoy the lively atmosphere that defines San Sebastián’s vibrant food culture. To make the most of your time in the city, we include a fantastic walking tour!

Enjoy a further day in San Sebastián or join our optional excursion to Bilbao. This compact and varied city is very easy to navigate, allowing you to discover art, history, local food and great views all in one day.
Head into Casco Viejo, the historic heart of Bilbao. Wander its narrow streets, browse small shops, and visit landmarks like Santiago Cathedral. Stop at a traditional bar and try pintxos (Basque tapas). Perhaps enjoy a riverside walk to admire the spectacular Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Even if you don’t go inside, walk around it – the building itself is the star, with its flowing metallic curves. Having reinvented itself, but stayed deeply connected to its roots, Bilbao is sure to leave a wonderful impression!

Accommodation
In Haro, you will stay for four nights at the 4-star Hotel Eurostars Los Agustinos. Dating back to the 14th century, the hotel was originally a convent.
In San Sebastián, you will stay for three nights at the 4-star Hotel Eurostars Amara, a stylish hotel set beside the Urumea River.
Your overnight stay in the Paris area will be in a city-style hotel.
On the overnight ferry sailing, accommodation will be in an en suite inside cabin (meals are not included on board the ship).
Hotel Eurostars Los Agustinos
Eurostars Los Agustinos is a distinctive 4-star hotel set in the heart of Spain’s famous Rioja wine region. What makes it stand out is its setting: the building dates back to the 14th century and has served as a monastery, military garrison, hospital, and even a prison before being transformed into a hotel. The architecture preserves much of its historic charm, with a striking central cloister surrounded by stone arches and columns. Guest rooms are arranged around this courtyard, blending traditional features—like wooden beams and warm tones—with modern comforts such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and spacious bathrooms.
