Above the broad sweep of the River Nore sits the castle, while a pretty humpbacked stone bridge leads up into narrow, cheerful streets laced with carefully maintained buildings.

Optional excursion to Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland, first visited by the Vikings in 852 AD. The walled city has retained much of its medieval character, together with the graceful buildings from its 18th century expansion.
The parameters of the 10th century settlement can be clearly identified in The Viking Triangle. Reginald's Tower is the most historic urban medieval monument in Ireland.

Join our full day included tour to the spectacular Wicklow Mountains, visiting the valley of the two lakes, Glendalough, celebrated equally for its beauty and for its historical and archaeological interests.
We end the day in ‘Ballykissangel’ famed, Avoca.

We leave Carlow and head to Dublin. On arrival our optional sightseeing tour will give you a taste of this fascinating city. The tour will show you the inner city of Dublin, which if left on your own would take a week!
Be sure to get a drink of the ‘black stuff’ in one of the many homely Dublin taverns and, of course, see the city’s main highlights, including Trinity College and the Ha’penny Bridge.
We stay overnight in the Dublin area.
