Join us on the journey of a lifetime as we glide through the heart of the snowy Swiss Alps on the world’s slowest express train, the Glacier Express. Lose yourself in the magical festivities and experience a Christmas like no other, taking in the wintry scenery aboard a Lake Thun cruise and the breathtaking views of the Alps on Europe’s first-ever cogwheel railway to the top of Mount Rigi. Whilst spending the holiday season in this wonderful land, taste traditional Swiss dishes, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners. We have plenty of time to enjoy the local celebrations and relax in the beautiful resort of Interlaken, with a special horse-drawn carriage trip along the famous Höhematte. Itinerary
Please choose your preferred 6 day itinerary
Make your own way to London St. Pancras International where you will meet your friendly Tour Manager and board the Eurostar to Paris. We then join the high-speed train to Basel and onward train to Interlaken, Switzerland. We check in at our hotel for a relaxing evening.

Today we travel by train to Bern, the beautiful capital of Switzerland, which enchants visitors with its high-quality lifestyle and unique atmosphere. Must-see sights include an ornate clock tower, the Gothic cathedral rising above the old town, panoramic views at the rose garden, and numerous fountains scattered around the city.
Next, we take the train to Thun for a tranquil cruise on Lake Thun. Enjoy the winter scenery as we return to Interlaken by train. You are welcome to help dress the hotel’s Christmas tree and enjoy mulled wine and biscuits before we enjoy a traditional Swiss Christmas Eve dinner with wine included.

Merry Christmas! Horse-drawn carriages are a special feature of Interlaken, so we have included a ride along the famous Höhematte to the old town centre. Take in the most popular sights before returning to our hotel to enjoy a special Christmas dinner this evening with wine included.

Enjoy a world of winter mountain scenery as we travel by train to Chur and board the legendary Glacier Express to Brig. This amazing railway journey takes us through the alpine heart of Switzerland, passing through tunnels and across bridges. You will want to keep your camera at the ready throughout our journey to capture this stunning winter landscape of frosty mountain forests and glittering alpine meadows blanketed in freshly fallen snow.
We travel by train back to Interlaken, where we enjoy dinner this evening.

We take the Interlaken Express train to the picturesque city of Lucerne today, including a visit to the Chapel Bridge with the Water Tower – the landmark of Lucerne and the most photographed monument in Switzerland.
After a couple of hours to enjoy the sights, we take a boat trip on Lake Lucerne and then join the cogwheel railway up Mount Rigi, which offers breathtaking views across the Alps, with Lake Lucerne below.
We travel by train back to Interlaken and enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

We depart in the morning, retracing our route to Paris for our return journey by Eurostar back to London St. Pancras International. After arriving in London, you will make your own way home.
