This flower and plant exhibition showcases some of the finest horticultural treasures. The first exhibition took place in a pub in 1809 where around 50 plants competed for the honour.
Over the years, the event has built up a strong reputation for itself as the must-attend exhibition of the horticultural industry in Belgium. More than 500,000 types of plants and flowers can all be found under one roof, with the indoor gardens spanning over 1.5 hectares. Today we enjoy an included excursion to Antwerp. As Europe’s second-largest port (after Rotterdam) and one of the 10 largest in the world, it has much of the zest often associated with a harbour town. Famous for being the diamond capital of the world and one of the fashion cities of Europe, Antwerp is both a stylish and confident place to visit!
You will have time at leisure to explore the charming narrow streets, spacious squares and elegant boutiques which ensure Antwerp remain typically Flemish in character.
