The 6 June 1944 was a turning point in the Second World War with the Allied landings on the Normandy coast during Operation Overlord – the Invasion of mainland Europe. On what is our main WW2 Introductory Tour we see some of the most iconic D-Day locations and visit all the D-Day landing beaches along the Normandy coastline as well as seeing the site of the Pegasus Bridge glider landing, and where the ‘Band of Brothers’ fought near St. Mère Eglise. Understand D-Day as you overlook Bloody Omaha, or visit the bunkers at Juno Beach and realise that events on these battle sites are what have defined our modern world.

Another really moving experience, our guide ( Mark ) was excellent again, he has obviously done a lot of work to research the history of the sites we visited, his additional information provided a really informative insight into just how the brave folk who were there in the war must have felt. The tour provided a really good balance of in field experiences visiting the sites of interest, balanced with museums that show a slice of history close up. There is a lot of information to take in, but it is certainly an invaluable addition to the basic history we were taught in school, it really ought to be on the list of “ to do “ for anyone interested in history.

Educational, moving and emotional. Absolutely brilliant few days. Well looked after from start to finish from the first pick up to the drop off home. The tour guides were knowledgeable and the tours themselves were amazing. Enjoyed every single minute. The coach was comfortable. Will be looking to go on another tour next year with Leger. Highly recommend.
