Make your own way to London St. Pancras International and board the Eurostar to Frankfurt via Brussels, where we have an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we take the train from Frankfurt to Linz. Linz is the vibrant capital of Upper Austria and gateway to the Danube, known for its handsome Baroque old town and its more recent reputation as a UNESCO City of Media Arts. Here, we board our ship and then enjoy a relaxing evening onboard as we set sail overnight towards Melk.

We arrive in Melk this morning, a small town lying in the beautiful Wachau Valley. Here, you can join our optional excursion visiting the magnificent Melk Abbey, one of the most famous monastic houses in Austria and occupied by monks for over 900 years. We cast off again at lunchtime and relax on board as we cruise towards Vienna, arriving this evening for our overnight berth.

Whichever option you choose we return to the ship for lunch onboard during which we cast off and cruise overnight towards Budapest.

We arrive in Budapest this morning and moor just a short distance from the city centre. Lunch is served on board the ship. Why not then make the most of your visit by joining our optional guided tour? Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world with an extensive area recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We explore both sides of Hungary’s capital, which is divided by the meandering Danube, traditional Buda, and the more cosmopolitan Pest. Most of the famous sites are concentrated around Castle Hill on the Buda side, in downtown Pest and along the riverside walkways. Look out for the Royal Palace, Fishermen’s Bastion, Parliament Building, St Stephen’s Basilica, Heroes’ Square, and the Chain Bridge.
Alternatively, enjoy free time to venture into the centre at your own pace. Return to the ship and enjoy a relaxing dinner on board. This evening, you will have the chance to join our optional excursion to experience Budapest by night with a traditional folklore show.

Here, we visit a traditional stud farm and enjoy a tour of the grounds in a horse-drawn carriage, before watching a spectacular live Puszta horse show.

This evening, we cast off and cruise overnight to Dürnstein, enjoying dinner on board.

This morning, we arrive in Dürnstein, nestling amongst Austria’s most famous vineyards and crowned by the ruins of the castle that once imprisoned Richard the Lionheart. Enjoy time at leisure this morning to explore this beautiful town, with its cobbled streets, pretty courtyards and 16th-century houses. This afternoon, we cast off and relax aboard our ship as we cruise overnight back to Linz.

MS Swiss Crown
The 4-star MS Swiss Crown has belonged to the Scylla fleet since 2000 and was renovated in 2019. Adults-only and attentively crewed by 36 dedicated crew members, she carries just 141 passengers across 68 cabins spread over three decks – a scale that makes for an intimate and social experience on the water. On this adults-only vessel, you can enjoy excellent facilities, including a panoramic lounge with comfortable seating, a welcoming bar and stylish restaurant, a choice of five cabin types, a wellness area with a sauna and steam bath, a reading corner, an onboard shop and a spacious sun deck with sun loungers and a plunge pool. An elevator connects all decks, with the exception of the sun deck, and the vessel is fully air-conditioned.
