We continue to Challes-les-Eaux for a four-night stay. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink and wine tasting in the vaulted cellars of the Château.

Our Alpine extravaganza continues today with an included excursion to the town of Annecy, placed right on the shores of its namesake, Lake Annecy. Explore the picturesque lakeside promenade, and be sure to wander through the quaint old town, with its Christmas markets offering everything from festive delicacies to handmade clothing and local Savoyard dishes. Often referred to as the 'Venice of the Alps', the medieval quarter is a photographer’s delight.
Tonight, we enjoy a special Christmas Eve dinner.

Spend a leisurely day in our resort. Explore the château, which was the former home of the Dukes of Savoie, stroll around the beautiful grounds, or stretch your legs with a wander into the local village, before enjoying a delicious Christmas lunch.

Join our included excursion to Chamonix. Browsing around the little shops is a pleasure, and you will have a large choice of cafés and restaurants for your lunch. The town is about 3,500 feet above sea level and sits astride the River Arve, which rises into the Mer de Glacé – Mont Blanc’s largest glacier, known as the ‘Sea of Ice’.

Accommodation
You will stay for four nights at the 3-star superior Château des Comtes de Challes.
Château des Comtes de Challes
Ideally located for touring the French Alps, the hotel is only five miles from the town of Chambéry and a short walk takes you to the small resort of Challes-les-Eaux, with spa, cafés and shops. The hotel is comprised of three buildings, built around a courtyard which retains much of its original character; with antique artefacts and beautifully furnished public rooms. The hotel has been lovingly restored with the period fireplace and exposed beams in the dining room. Enjoy fine traditional cuisine, where the emphasis is on local produce, or relax by the outdoor pool and on the terrace, which affords magnificent views over the valley and surrounding countryside. The hotel also has its own private chapel and boasts well-appointed rooms which, in keeping with the château, all vary in size and style. The château also has its own historic wine cellar.
