Itinerary

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to Belgium for a two-night stay.
Today we look at the role of Easy Company and the 101st Airborne in the defence of Bastogne in December 1944, exploring their positions around the Bois Jacques, Foy and Recogne, and examining their later actions in this area. We also see the Band of Brothers Memorial.
After a lunch period in Bastogne, we visit the superb 101st Airborne Museum and consider the relief of Bastogne and the cost paid by the airborne troops who fought here.

Key Visits
We depart Belgium for Luxembourg and visit the Luxembourg American Cemetery to see General Patton's grave and the Easy Company casualties buried there.
We then continue into eastern France, visit the Lorraine American Cemetery and travel to our hotel in the Vosges for a two-night stay.

Key Visits
Today we discuss Easy Company's final period on the front line in early 1945. We begin at the Épinal American Cemetery, where one of the men lost on the 'Last Patrol' is buried, and spend our lunch period in Colmar, which was taken by American and Free French forces.
We then visit the MM Park Museum, home to an unrivalled collection of WW2 material and tanks, before finishing at Hagenau, where we walk the ground on which the patrol took place.

We travel from the Vosges into Germany and continue to Bavaria, where we visit the site of the camp liberated by Easy Company in 1945.
We then see Dachau, one of the earliest concentration camps, and discuss the Holocaust and the American reaction to discovering camps such as these as the war came to an end. Later, we arrive at our hotel in Bad Aibling for a two-night stay.

Key Visits
Today we follow Easy Company to Berchtesgaden, where they arrived at the end of the war in Europe. We visit the town and, weather permitting, ascend to the Eagle's Nest.
Built for Hitler's 50th birthday, the Eagle's Nest was visited by Allied troops in the final days of the war, including many men from Easy Company, some of whom were photographed here.

We depart Germany and travel to our hotel in Belgium for a two-night stay.

Today we return to the story of the American airborne forces in the Ardennes in 1944. We visit the graves at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and the Ardennes American Cemetery, where we also discuss the 'Masters of the Air' series, and see the excellent Remember 39–45 Museum.
We finish back in Bastogne, very much at the heart of the Band of Brothers story.

Accommodation
You will stay for two nights at the Vayamundo Houffalize and two nights at the Hotel l'Ours de Mutzig, followed by two nights at the Johannisbad in Bad Aibling, Bavaria. You will then return to Belgium and stay for two nights at the Vayamundo Houffalize.
