Situated in the heart of charming Assmannshausen in the Rhine Valley, the hotel is located only a short stroll from the Rhine Promenade. The chair lift, next to the hotel, takes you to the summit of the Niederwald, from where a short walk takes you to the cable cars, which run into the bustling wine town of Rüdesheim. The Alte Bauernschanke, a wonderful half-timberered building, was originally a tavern dating back to the 15th century and has become a landmark in the town. You may also wish to use the excellent wellness facilities (at additional cost).
A warm welcome awaits you at the family-run Hotel Sonnschein. Situated in its own gardens and parkland, the hotel is located on the edge of the quiet village of Niederau in the Wildschonau Valley. Gill Thaler provides a typically Tyrolean welcome – even though your hostess is actually originally from Birmingham! All bedrooms are beautifully furnished with en-suite facilities, television and hairdryer. The spacious restaurant, bar and sun terrace provide the ideal meeting place to relax. Leisure facilities include both indoor and outdoor swimming pools (subject to season), table tennis, mini-golf (small charge), sauna, steam bath and whirlpool.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not
generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests
at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
