Part old Norse, part modern city, the Icelandic capital has a quirky character of its own. Although Reykjavik is one of the world’s smallest capital cities, it is home to almost half of Iceland’s population. Mosaics, murals and sculptures are found throughout the oldest part of the town where brightly coloured houses with tin roofs are watched over by the towering Hallgrimskirkja Church.

The classic ‘Golden Circle’ featuring vast lava fields, bubbling mud pools, crashing waterfalls and spouting geysers, is a popular optional excursion along with the chance to bathe in the famous geothermal Blue Lagoon.

The Maritime Museum traces the life and history of the settlement where fishing has been, and remains, the area’s main source of income. The Westfjords region is a nature lover’s paradise and a popular excursion visits the magical island of Vigur, which is home to a large eider duck colony and vast bird population.

Your Cruise Ship - CMV Magellan
CMV Magellan joined the CMV fleet in 2015 to much acclaim. Able to carry 1,250 guests, CMV Magellan offers a more traditional and leisurely ‘country house’ style of cruising and maritime experience. Enjoy traditional wood type decking and expansive deck areas on a smaller ship able to access more ports of call than the larger resort ships, enabling some really innovative itineraries.

    Onboard Facilities
Discover a wide range of comfortable lounges and stylish leisure facilities to enrich your time on board. The wide range of public facilities include the impressive Waldorf and Kensington Restaurants offering two dining sittings, or the more informal Raffles Bistro. There are comfortable lounge areas throughout, including the two-tier theatre-style CMV Magellan Show Lounge and a wide range of other amenities. Out on deck, there are two swimming pools, three whirlpools and large deck areas.

    Cabins
Your cabin is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day sightseeing ashore and your cabin steward will ensure that you enjoy a high degree of comfort and service, whichever grade of accommodation you decide best suits your holiday requirements. A high priority is placed on your comfort, with hanging and storage space and a designated steward service twice daily, including a nightly turndown service.  All cabins offer twin lower beds, bathroom with shower, T.V., telephone, hairdryer, music console, safe, air conditioning and complimentary pool towel.
