We travel into Hungary to Budapest and our cruise ship, the 4-star Emerald Star, for our seven-night cruise. This evening join our night–time cruise along the Danube, passing under the city’s numerous bridges, whilst enjoying a traditional Hungarian welcome dinner complete with folk dancing and music.

We take a guided tour of Budapest, which takes in the Fisherman’s Bastion situated on Castle Hill and the iconic Chain Bridge that links the two parts of the city: Buda and Pest. This afternoon, we depart for Bratislava.

This morning finds us in Slovakia and the capital, Bratislava. Join our included sightseeing tour of the Old Town, home to a plethora of historical buildings, including the Gothic cathedral of St. Martin.

Our cruise ship arrives in Vienna this morning, Austria’s vibrant capital city known as ‘The City of Music’ because of its musical legacy. Today, we take you on an icon-filled included coach tour along the Ringstrasse, where you’ll see Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Burgtheatre, Town Hall, St Stephen’s Cathedral and Hofburg Imperial Palace, before hopping off to explore on foot.

Your tour of Austria’s wine growing region begins in Dürnstein through the great Wachau Valley, home to the 12th century castle, where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned. We continue our cruise to Melk, a pretty town situated on the south bank of the Danube River, famous for its 900-year old Benedictine abbey.

Our cruise arrives in Passau, situated at the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz. On this morning’s included walking tour, you will stroll through the cobblestone streets and narrow alleys.

We reach Regensburg this morning, one of Germany’s best-preserved Medieval cities. On our included, guided walking tour, you will have the chance to admire many of the city’s architectural highlights, including the Old Town Hall. We continue our cruise to Kelheim.

Disembark in Nuremberg. We rejoin our coach and head to Heidelberg for a brief visit. Heidelberg enjoys a beautiful location on the banks of the River Neckar. We stay overnight in Belgium.

Accommodation

You will spend seven nights cruising on the 4-star Emerald Sun. Cabins feature a picture window, en suite bathroom, queen-size or twin hotel-style bed, safe, climate control, mini fridge and wi-fi.

Your overnight stays in Belgium and Prague will be in city-style hotels.

Your Cruise Ship

The Emerald Sun is a stylish and spacious ship, designed to ensure the most comfortable cruise. From the innovative on-board pool that transforms into a cinema on selected evenings, to the open air terrace, you can’t fail to be impressed with the ship’s facilities.

Lounge/Bar: The Horizon Bar and Lounge features floor-to-ceiling windows, designed to create an airy atmosphere. If you walk through the lounge to the ship’s bow, you’ll find the terrace looking out onto the river – the perfect place to relax.

Sun Deck: Lined with the most comfortable lounge chairs, the Sun Deck offers amazing 360º views of the stunning scenery.

Restaurants: The ship’s experienced chefs take great pride in preparing dishes of the highest quality, and in ensuring their menus showcase the fantastic cuisine Europe has to offer. The ship’s main restaurant, Reflections, offers an informal setting for you to enjoy the delightful cuisine. Every day, you can enjoy a buffet breakfast, a full hot and cold buffet lunch or à la carte menu, and a four-course evening meal. For al fresco dining, head to the terrace, where you can enjoy a light breakfast and café-style lunch, and on selected days, head to the sun deck for a tasty barbecue! All meals are included on board, plus drinks with lunch and dinner, and free tea and coffee throughout the day.
