Day at leisure to relax and explore Valkenburg’s quaint cobbled streets and pretty buildings. Situated at the crossroads of three countries, Valkenburg has long been a favourite destination on account of its exuberance and extremely varied appeal. Valkenburg, or the 'Marlstone Town' as it is known locally, is famous for its castle and the elaborate system of Roman caves and tunnels that run beneath the town. Explore the quaint cobbled streets and beautiful buildings of this enchanting fortified town, or alternatively, relax with a glass of the local white beer.

Amsterdam & Canal Cruise
Today we travel to Holland’s cosmopolitan capital city of Amsterdam on our included excursion. Amsterdam is a city with something for everyone, from romantic canal cruises, fantastic gastronomic experiences, art, diamonds, shopping, culture, history and much, much more. Enjoy a relaxed optional cruise along myriad canals for which Amsterdam is famous. Listen to an interesting and informative commentary as we sail past many of the famous sights of the capital and we also have the added bonus of seeing parts of the city which are not accessible by coach. Following the cruise, we visit a diamond factory where we see at first hand the methods for turning diamonds.
Rhine & Moselle Valleys
Our optional excursion takes us to the majestic Rhine Valley. Famous for its picture-postcard villages, fairy tale castles and vineyards, there is no wonder that the area is considered by many to offer the most picturesque scenery in Germany. We visit the quaint Rhineland town of Boppard, which was once a Roman fort. Enjoy time at leisure in this pretty town to explore or amble along the promenade. During the day, an optional River Rhine lunch cruise will be available. We cruise through the Rhine gorge, famous for its ancient castles, picturesque villages and vine-clad slopes, and enjoy lunch on board ship. Later, we travel to Alken in the Moselle Valley, where we enjoy an optional wine tasting at the house of Anton Hammes, one of the famous vintners of the area. The Hammes family have been vintners here for over 300 years, and you will enjoy a wine tasting, with 4 or 5 different varieties offered, before having the chance to purchase your favourites to bring home with you!

Drielandenpunt & Aachen
Today we travel to the Drielandenpunt (Three Country Point), near to the town of Vaals and where the borders of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands all meet. There will be a short amount of time here to take photos before we continue into Germany to the nearby city of Aachen. Aachen is famous for its magnificent cathedral and the Elisenbrunnen fountain, which is also the symbol of the town. There will be free time here for you to explore before returning to the hotel in time for your evening meal.

Monschau or Free Time in Valkenburg
Enjoy a relaxing day in the town of Valkenburg or join our morning optional visit to the charming little town of Monschau, tucked into the hilly landscape of the Eifel mountain range. Wander around the cobbled streets lined with centuries-old half-timbered houses, cafés, restaurants and souvenir shops, before returning to Valkenburg after lunch.

The Hotel De Bogaerde is a comfortable family run hotel, situated close to the picturesque little waterfall of the River Geul, with splendid views over the famous castle ruins of Valkenburg. The adjacent Walramplein square and swirling Geul stream provide an enchanting setting, within the ruins of the ancient city walls. All en-suite bedrooms are equipped with free wifi, tea/coffee making facilities (in room or available at reception). TV, radio and telephone; room upgrades are also available. The hotel also offer here is also a lift. The restaurant and bar are located in the adjacent sister hotel, the Walram, which is connected by an indoor walkway. The Walram’s indoor swimming pool and sauna are also available to use.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not
generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests
at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.

On most holidays if you’d prefer to join your
tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your
car in the car park which is accredited by the Park
Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24
hours a day by CCTV. Payment for the parking is
made on arrival using the self-service machines.

Front row seats can be reserved for £14pp (up to 6 days' duration), £22pp (7 & 8 days' duration) and £25pp (9 days' duration and over)
on all European tours. This offer is only available for bookings of two or four persons on the front row and is subject to
availability. In addition to this, seats on the second row can be reserved for £7pp (up to 6 days duration), £14pp (7 & 8 days duration)
and £17pp (9 days duration and over). Guaranteed front/second row seats cannot be reserved on transfer journeys to/from the interchange. Children under 15 years cannot
occupy a front row seat due to French Law. Central view seats are free.
Please note: On some coaches the legroom on front seats may be slightly less than that available on other seats due to the presence of a modesty board in front.
If your tour is cancelled for any reason and front/second row seats are not available on your new tour, you will be refunded the supplement. No other compensation will be payable.
Alternatively, we can take seating requests on your booking. However, requests are not guaranteed. All seat numbers are confirmed on travel documents approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.
Transfer coaches are routed approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. The route taken depends on where paassengers are booked to travel from on any particular
date as to which route is taken. If you require further detailed information regarding the route to the port you can contact our Customer
Service Department on 01709 830333 two weeks before you are due to travel.
With regard to the route taken by the main tour coach, this is determined by the driver.
All main tour coaches have on-board toilets. Transfer vehicles to and from the interchange may not have on-board toilets. When non-British coaches are
used on transfers and tours (air holidays only) an on-board toilet may not be available. However, comfort stops will be made during long journeys.
All coaches feature air-conditioning. Should the air-conditioning system break down for a period exceeding 12 hours,
compensation will be awarded up to a maximum of £10 per fare-paying passenger per tour.
Depending on the location of your pickup point, you may be picked up by coach (not necessarily the on you are touring on), minibus, taxi, National Express or Megabus service. You may then be taken to another centralised pickup location or service station. We operate a passenger interchange at Stop 24 Services, where you will meet the tour coach you are holidaying on and then continue on with your outbound journey. Similarly, on the way home, you may also change transfer vehicles at another location, to take you to your final drop off point.
Your allowance is one medium sized suitcase per person, which
should weigh no more than 20kg when full. We
may refuse to carry larger or heavier cases.
Hand luggage should be stored in the overhead
racks aboard the coach. Nothing should be stored under your seat.
