Itinerary

Please choose your preferred 11 day itinerary

Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city.

Take a full day to explore Hanoi’s illustrious history. In the morning, visit the imposing marble edifice housing the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, the wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda.

Continue to explore the Military Operation Bunker (General Command Headquarter) and the D67 bunker – also called the Central Military Commission Bunker inside the Hanoi Citadel.

In the afternoon, visit the “Hanoi Hilton”, nick-name of the Hanoi prison where once American pilots were kept during the war. Continue driving to sites related to the December 1972 B-52 bombing of Hanoi: the Kham Thien Street and the B-52 Memorial Lake.

Stop by the Downed Aircraft Memorial commemorating McCain’s shoot-down and capture before ending the day with a visit to a North Vietnamese war veteran and his collection of relics and Army Museum.

Drive through green rice paddy fields to Ha Long Bay. You will board a junk for a cruise among the hundreds of islets.

Enjoy a seafood lunch and a swim (if weather permits) before visiting a grotto of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites.

Drop anchor in the late evening for an overnight stay among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea.

Ha Long Bay

Spend the morning cruising through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay before returning to the wharf. Transfer to Hanoi with a stop by Pha Lai Bridge.

Dong Hoi and visit Khe Gat Air strip, Eight Ladies Cave, Ho Chi Minh trails, and Paradise Cave.

Visit Vinh Moc Tunnels, Hien Luong Bridge, Doc Mieu, Camp Carol, Dakrong Bridge, Khe Sanh, Quang Tri Citadel, the Highway of Terrors, Ai Tu Airport. Then, drive directly to Hue. Arrive in Hue and check in hotel.

In the morning, visit the Imperial Citadel. In the 1968 TET offensive, Hue was considered as the bloodiest battle place. We will also visit the History Museum, and Vong Canh Hill.

Continue taking a boat cruise on the peaceful Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda.

Then, drive to Hoi An via the Red Beach, My Khe Beach (former name is China Beach).

Arrive in Hoi An and, if time permitting, take short walking tour Hoi.

Drive south toward the former Chu Lai air base with stops at the Nui Thanh battle memorial.

Continue to visit the site of My Lai massacre before driving back to Hoi An.

Take the early morning flight from Danang to Saigon. Arrive in Saigon and drive to Cu Chi, guests will walk through the jungle area in Ben Duoc, known as “the Mushroom” to U.S. soldiers.

Here, guests will have a chance to learn how Cu Chi guerilla fighters survived and resisted during the Indochina and Vietnam War. Guests can try some of the tubers and tea that many tunnel-dwellers lived on as well.

After the tour, guests will transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City, making stops en route to view rice paddies as well as rubber plantations and learn about some of the agricultural products of Vietnam.

Return to hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and have a meeting with Vietnamese Veteran. Then, transfer to hotel for checking in.

Ho Chi Minh Cu Chi Tunnels

Depart for the Mekong Delta. Start your visit with the major Battle site of Ap Bac which happened on 3 January, 1963, during the Vietnam War.

Also visit the Dong Tam Snake Farm which was the main 9th infantry Division base camp.

Continue your drive to My Tho, once famous for the U.S. Brown Water Navy in the Mekong Delta. Enjoy a boat cruise along the river and take a short walk to a handicraft workshop where products are made from coconut trees.

Experience an exciting horse-drawn cart ride to visit a local house where you will enjoy tea and taste home grown fruits.

Board a sampan and drift along the narrow, tree-lined canals for further exploration of the Mekong Delta. After lunch, visit a family-run business making coconut candy before returning to My Tho.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City by the late afternoon.
