Discover the great history of Greece, as we take you on an escorted coach tour of some of the country’s archaeological treasures and the famous sights of the mythological tales, all whilst exploring beautiful sun-drenched islands. See stunning natural sites, from the gigantic rock formations of Meteora to the stunning Islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydra. Explore the rich historical architecture, as we visit sites such as Delphi, ‘the navel of earth’, Epidaurus with its magnificent amphitheatre, Mycenae and the famous Lion’s Gate, and the ancient site of Olympia, home of the first ever Olympic games. We also spend time in Athens, where you can enjoy a guided tour of the city’s many sights, including the ancient Acropolis. We also offer a trip to the ancient Corinth Canal. Once you have booked your tour either online, or by telephone ( 01709 787 463 ), you have the flexibility of how you pay off the remainder of your balance. You can:

  • Use our balance payment facility online to make and track your card payments. You can pay as much as you want up until your final due date or pay it all, the choice is yours.

  • Call us and make a card payment, either a small amount or as lump sum until your final due date.

Your Itinerary

    Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to northern France for an overnight stay.

    After breakfast settle back in your seat as we travel south through France and Switzerland to our overnight hotel in northern Italy.

    We continue our journey across Italy to the port of Ancona where we board the overnight ferry to Igoumenitsa in Greece. Please note: your driver will be required to collect your passport in order for you to be checked-in before boarding the ferry. Please ensure you have your passport to hand. It is advisable to pack an overnight bag for this evening. (en suite cabins included).

    We disembark the ferry this morning at the port of Igoumenitsa and commence our journey towards Kalambaka for an overnight stay. Later this afternoon we travel to Meteora on our included excursion. Meteora (literally meaning ‘hanging from the sky’) is possibly one of the most impressive sites in Greece with gigantic rock formations. On top of these rock formations hide monasteries and before the end of the day we will visit at least two of them.

    We leave the hotel today and head south through the mountains of central Greece towards ‘the navel of the earth’, Delphi. We meet our guide who will introduce us to the site, located on the side of Mount Parnassos, and also the museum of Delphi. We continue our journey south via the picturesque village of Arachova. If time allows we will pause here for a short stop before continuing to Athens where we stay for three nights.

    Athens with Guided Tour

    This morning is dedicated to exploring the city of Athens. We meet our guide and take an included panoramic tour of the city. We see the House of Parliament, the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Constitution Square, the Presidential Palace, National Library and the Panathinaikon Stadium. The highlight of the tour will be a visit to the impressive Acropolis. Our morning tour will continue with a short walk in the famous Plaka area where we stop for lunch at a typical Greek taverna. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore further or alternatively why not join our optional excursion along the coastal road of Attica to Cape Sounion. Here stands the magnificent Temple of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea, where we have a guided visit. In ancient times, mariners would see the brilliant white marbled temple and know they were close to home. Today’s temple was built in 444 BCE on the site of the older temple. Please be aware that passengers with walking difficulties may find this excursion a challenge. Rocks at the temple are rough but can also be slippery; therefore it is advisable to wear good sturdy footwear. Although the weather maybe hot it is advisable to take a jacket with you, as it can be very breezy at the temple.

    Saronic Islands

    Saronic Islands

    Today is at leisure for you to explore Athens further at your own pace. Alternatively, why not join our optional full day cruise to the nearby islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydra. Each of the islands are beautiful but they all have their own characters. Aegina is known for its great production of pistachios, Poros is known for its wonderful landscapes and Hydra is highly cosmopolitan. Lunch will be served on board the ship and then late this afternoon we arrive back at the port ready for the transfer to the hotel. This evening you can enjoy an optional dinner at a typical Greek restaurant with music and folk-dance show.

    Corinth Canal, Epidaurus & Nafplion

    Corinth Canal, Epidaurus & Nafplion

    We leave our hotel and drive along the coastal road towards the famous Corinth Canal where we have a brief photo stop. We continue to Epidaurus where we meet our guide for a visit to the magnificent amphitheatre. Our day continues to Nafplion, the first capital of Modern Greece. Here there will be free time to explore before we take a short drive to the nearby resort of Tolo where we stay for four nights.

    Corinth & Nemea

    Corinth & Nemea

    Today is at leisure for you to relax and enjoy your surroundings or alternatively why not join our optional excursion to ancient Corinth and nearby Nemea region. Corinth was an important city in ancient Greece and it played a major role in the missionary work of the Apostle Paul. Today, Corinth is the second largest city in the Peloponnese with several sites of interest to pilgrims and tourists. We continue to Nemea, famous in Greek mythology as the home of the Nemean lion that was ultimately killed by Hercules. Here we have the chance to sample some of the local produce. We return to our hotel in time for dinner this evening.

    We leave Tolo this morning and head towards Mycenae. We meet our guide and take an included guided visit to the site of Mycenae with the famous Lion’s Gate and Agamemnon’s tomb. We continue our journey via Tripolis and Megalopolis to arrive in Olympia for an overnight stay.

    We begin our day at the home of the first Olympic Games. We meet our guide who will introduce us to the ancient site of Olympia and of course the outstanding museum. Later we drive towards Patras to board the overnight ferry to Ancona, Italy. (en suite cabins included).

    We disembark the ferry and head north to the Lake Garda / Verona region where we stay overnight.

    We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or guardian aged over 18 years old.

    In Greece you will stay for one night in Kalambaka at the 3-star Hotel Orfeas, or similar, followed by three nights in Athens at the 4-star Hotel Stanley, or similar. In Tolo you will stay for four nights at the 3-star Hotel Minoa, or similar, and then one night at the 3-star Hotel Neda, or similar, in Olympia.

    Overnight stays in northern France, northern Italy and Belgium are in city-style hotels. Overnight in the Lake Garda/Verona area will be in a 3-star hotel.

    If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.

    No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.

    Your hotels will supply towels in your room.

    We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.

    We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.


    Travel Information

    Departure times given for each region are approximate. Please check your travel documents to confirm the actual timings.

    Front row seats can be reserved for £14pp (up to 6 days' duration), £22pp (7 & 8 days' duration) and £25pp (9 days' duration and over) on all European tours. This offer is only available for bookings of two or four persons on the front row and is subject to availability. In addition to this, seats on the second row can be reserved for £7pp (up to 6 days duration), £14pp (7 & 8 days duration) and £17pp (9 days duration and over). Guaranteed front/second row seats cannot be reserved on transfer journeys to/from the interchange. Children under 15 years cannot occupy a front row seat due to French Law. Central view seats are free.

    Please note: On some coaches the legroom on front seats may be slightly less than that available on other seats due to the presence of a modesty board in front.

    If your tour is cancelled for any reason and front/second row seats are not available on your new tour, you will be refunded the supplement. No other compensation will be payable.

    Alternatively, we can take seating requests on your booking. However, requests are not guaranteed. All seat numbers are confirmed on travel documents approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.

    We guarantee that all passengers on the same booking will be seated together on the main tour coach. Seats on the transfer coaches to and from the interchange are not allocated.
    Hot and cold drinks are served on your main tour coach. Prices are approximately £1 or €1.25 Euro per drink. Prices will be confirmed by your driver.

    Transfer coaches are routed approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. The route taken depends on where paassengers are booked to travel from on any particular date as to which route is taken. If you require further detailed information regarding the route to the port you can contact our Customer Service Department on 01709 830333 two weeks before you are due to travel.

    With regard to the route taken by the main tour coach, this is determined by the driver.

    All main tour coaches have on-board toilets. Transfer vehicles to and from the interchange may not have on-board toilets. When non-British coaches are used on transfers and tours (air holidays only) an on-board toilet may not be available. However, comfort stops will be made during long journeys.
    All coaches feature air-conditioning. Should the air-conditioning system break down for a period exceeding 12 hours, compensation will be awarded up to a maximum of £10 per fare-paying passenger per tour.
    All our coaches and transfer vehicles operate a 'no smoking on board policy'. The use of electronic cigarettes is strictly forbidden.
    In the interest of fellow guests, do not take hot food or ice cream on board.
    alcohol can only be taken on board our vehicles at the discretion of your driver.
    Depending on the location of your pickup point, you may be picked up by coach (not necessarily the on you are touring on), minibus, taxi, National Express or Megabus service. You may then be taken to another centralised pickup location or service station. We operate a passenger interchange at Stop 24 Services, where you will meet the tour coach you are holidaying on and then continue on with your outbound journey. Similarly, on the way home, you may also change transfer vehicles at another location, to take you to your final drop off point.
    Your allowance is one medium sized suitcase per person, which should weigh no more than 20kg when full. We may refuse to carry larger or heavier cases. Hand luggage should be stored in the overhead racks aboard the coach. Nothing should be stored under your seat.
