Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to northern France for an overnight stay.
After breakfast settle back in your seat as we travel south through France and Switzerland to our overnight hotel in northern Italy.
We continue our journey across Italy to the port of Ancona where we board the overnight ferry to Igoumenitsa in Greece. Please note: your driver will be required to collect your passport in order for you to be checked-in before boarding the ferry. Please ensure you have your passport to hand. It is advisable to pack an overnight bag for this evening. (en suite cabins included).
Morning arrival at Igoumenitsa, then we follow the scenic road to the beautiful town of Ioannina set against Lake Pavmotis. There is time to explore during a short stop, perhaps taking a boat to the little island of Nisi on the lake (not included) or enjoying lunch in one of the local tavernas (not included). Continue to Kalambaka, where we stay overnight. This evening, we take a short drive to Meteora, possibly one of the most impressive sites in Greece. Weather permitting, we will take in the spectacular views over the plain and watch the breath-taking sunset.
Return to Meteora this morning, where we will meet with our local guide and visit at least two of the monasteries. Meteora (literally meaning ‘hanging from the sky’) are gigantic rock formations, like towers of sandstone, which have provided sacred retreat for monks over the centuries. Considered one of the most beautiful areas of mainland Greece, Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. There is time for lunch in Kalambaka (not included) before we head south through the mountains to Delphi, where we stay overnight.
Located on the slopes of Mount Parnassos in a spectacular natural setting, Delphi is a trove of archaeological treasures dedicated to Apollo. We explore the site with a local guide including a visit to the museum, which houses the famous bronze statue of the ‘Charioteer’. Later we continue to Athens for a two-night stay. This evening, join an optional excursion to the famous Plaka area, followed by dinner at a Greek restaurant with live music and folk-dance show.
Included panoramic guided tour of Athens, seeing the House of Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Constitution Square and the Presidential Palace. We will also visit the Acropolis. Enjoy a short walk in the famous Plaka area, where we enjoy lunch at a typical Greek tavern. In the afternoon, you can take an optional tour along the coastal road of Attica to Cape Sounion, for a guided visit to the Temple of Poseidon.
We leave our hotel and drive along the coastal road towards the famous Corinth Canal where we have a brief photo stop. We continue to Epidaurus where we meet our guide for a visit to the magnificent amphitheatre. Our day continues to Nafplion, the first capital of Modern Greece. Here there will be free time to explore before we take a short drive to the nearby resort of Tolo where we stay for four nights.

Today is at leisure for you to relax and enjoy your surroundings or alternatively why not join our optional excursion to ancient Corinth and nearby Nemea region. Corinth was an important city in ancient Greece and it played a major role in the missionary work of the Apostle Paul. Today, Corinth is the second largest city in the Peloponnese with several sites of interest to pilgrims and tourists. We continue to Nemea, famous in Greek mythology as the home of the Nemean lion that was ultimately killed by Hercules. Here we have the chance to sample some of the local produce. We return to our hotel in time for dinner this evening.

We leave Tolo this morning and head towards Mycenae. We meet our guide and take an included guided visit to the site of Mycenae with the famous Lion’s Gate and Agamemnon’s tomb. We continue our journey via Tripolis and Megalopolis to arrive in Olympia for an overnight stay.
We begin our day at the home of the first Olympic Games. We meet our guide who will introduce us to the ancient site of Olympia and of course the outstanding museum. Later we drive towards Patras to board the overnight ferry to Ancona, Italy. (en suite cabins included).
We disembark the ferry and head north to the Lake Garda / Verona region where we stay overnight.
To Belgium for an overnight stay.

If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.
No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
In Greece, you will stay for one night in the Kalambaka area, such as the 3-star Hotel Orfeas, followed by another overnight stay in Delphi in a minimum 3-star hotel. You will then stay for two nights in the Athens area in a minimum 3-star hotel, such as the Hotel Stanley before a four night stay in the Tolo area in the 3-star Hotel Minoa, 3-star Hotel Apollon, or similar. Finally, you will stay overnight in the Olympia area, such as the 3-star Hotel Neda.
On the overnight ferry crossings, accommodation will be in en suite, inside cabins (meals at extra cost).
Overnight stays in northern France and Belgium will be in city-style hotels, and overnight stays in northern Italy and the Lake Garda/Verona area will be in minimum 3-star hotels.
Front row seats can be reserved for £15pp (up to 6 days duration), £25pp (7 and 8 days duration), £30pp (9 to 11 days) or £35pp (12 days or more) on all European tours. This offer is only available for bookings of two or four persons on our Executive and Silver Service coaches and for one or two persons on our Luxuria coaches and is subject to availability. In addition to this, seats on the second row can be reserved for a supplement of £8pp (up to 6 days duration), £15pp (7 and 8 days duration), £18pp (9 to 11 days) or £22pp (12 days or more).
Guaranteed front or second row seats cannot be reserved on transfer journeys to/from the UK port. Occasionally, front and second row seats may be on a request only basis.
Please note: children under 15 years of age are not permitted to sit in the front seats of any coach.
On some coaches the legroom on front seats, central view seats and seats directly in front of the washroom may be slightly less than that available on other seats due to the presence of a modesty board in front.
If your tour is cancelled or merged for any reason and front or second row seats or central view seats or table seats are not available on your tour, you will be refunded any supplement paid. No other compensation will be payable.
Alternatively, we can take seating requests on your booking. However, requests are not guaranteed. All seat numbers are confirmed on travel documents approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.

Transfer coaches are routed approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. The route taken depends on where paassengers are booked to travel from on any particular date as to which route is taken. If you require further detailed information regarding the route to the port you can contact our Customer Service Department on 01709 830333 two weeks before you are due to travel.
With regard to the route taken by the main tour coach, this is determined by the driver.

On most holidays if you’d prefer to join your tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your car in the car park which is accredited by the Park Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. Payment for the parking is made on arrival using the self-service machines. Excludes holidays to Ireland and the U.K. and tours travelling via Brittany Ferries.
On Single Traveller holidays and coach holidays of 7 days’ duration or more, you don’t even have to think about getting to your local joining point. If you live within 20 miles of one of our free joining points we’ll pick you up from your home and take you to meet your transfer vehicle, then return you back home at the end of your holiday. The cost is from £40 per booking each way for up to four people per booking.
