This fantastic 7-day holiday takes us to some of the most charming German towns before enjoying the gourmet mile of Speyer. We'll visit romantic Heidelberg with its beautiful castle ruins and quaint atmosphere before our excursion to the Rhine Valley. Take in the picturesque scenery as we glide along the river on our included cruise.

The highlight of the trip is our visit to the historic city of Speyer. Take a seat at the 800-metre long ‘Emperor’s Table’ and taste specialities offered by the town’s kitchens and cellars. Located between Speyer’s Cathedral and the Postplatz, this unique gourmet mile attracts exquisite food, fine wines and refreshing beers from all around the beautiful Rhine region - sure to be a culinary delight!

Today we visit the ancient university town of Heidelberg. The city of Heidelberg enjoys a beautiful location on the banks of the River Neckar. It is often referred to as the ‘Romantic Town’ on account of its castle ruins and red sandstone buildings, which dominate the city. Heidelberg castle has been described as the most beautiful castle ruin of Germany, and enjoys a prominent location overlooking the town and from where the views across Heidelberg and the Neckar are astounding.

During our visit we include the funicular to the castle and a tour around the courtyard and the castle garden.

Enjoy a full-day included excursion exploring the beautiful scenery of the Rhine Valley, from its medieval castles and picturesque villages to vine-clad slopes.

During the day, take delight in an included cruise along the Rhine, Germany’s largest river. Our cruise is a perfect way to view the splendid scenery on offer.

You can also enjoy an optional wine tasting in a wine cellar or a winery.

Today we visit the historic city of Speyer. The former centre of the Holy Roman Empire in Germany, now the city’s romantic alleys and attractive squares are centred around its beautiful cathedral.

Your guide will lead you through the charming streets to take your seat at the 800-metre long Emperor’s Table. Running between the cathedral and the Postplatz and known as the ‘gourmet mile’, you will be able to sample the exquisite food, fine wines and refreshing beers from the kitchen and cellars of the restaurateurs of Speyer and the surrounding area.
