Today we visit the ancient university town of Heidelberg. The city of Heidelberg enjoys a beautiful location on the banks of the River Neckar. It is often referred to as the ‘Romantic Town’ on account of its castle ruins and red sandstone buildings, which dominate the city. Heidelberg castle has been described as the most beautiful castle ruin of Germany, and enjoys a prominent location overlooking the town – the views across Heidelberg and the Neckar are astounding. During our visit we include the funicular to the castle and a tour around the courtyard and the Castle garden.
This afternoon we continue to the Black Forest for a two-night stay.
This morning we discover the famous Black Forest where traditional timbered buildings blend into the beautiful rolling landscape of wooded hills and green meadows. During our explorations we visit the town of Triberg, home to the magnificent Triberg Waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Germany. We call at the town of Schonach, to see the traditional cuckoo clocks, and continue on via the Rhine Falls, to Lake Constance. Join us for an optional boat ride to admire the beauty of the Rhine Falls.

Today we continue to Munich for an overnight stay, calling at Ulm. The medieval town of Ulm is known for being the birthplace of Albert Einstein, and for the Gothic Münster, which has one of the world’s highest towers. Enjoy an included guided walking tour to take in the city’s sights. We continue to Munich where we stay for two nights.
Enjoy a full day in wonderful Munich where we include a morning guided walking tour to introduce you to the city. In the heart of Munich is the Marienplatz, a large open square named after the Mariensäule, a Marian column in its centre. The square is dominated by the New Town Hall or Neues Rathaus as it is locally known. Its tower contains the Rathaus-Glockenspiel which dates from 1908. You will have the afternoon at leisure to explore at your own pace. During the day you can enjoy an optional lunch at the famous Hofbräuhaus and live the Bavarian Culture!

We travel through Bavaria to Regensburg, renowned as one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Germany. You will have time at leisure to discover the narrow streets and medieval courtyards before continuing to Nuremberg. On arrival in Nuremberg you can enjoy an optional guided sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city, complete with a tasting of the “Nürnberger Bratwurst”, the city’s famous sausage!

Our first stop today is Bayreuth, known for its famous Bayreuth Festival Theatre and UNESCO listed Opera House. We continue on to Dresden, the enchanting capital of Eastern Germany. Set on the banks of the lovely Elbe River, Dresden has a remarkable history reflected in its wealth of historic buildings, including the Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera and the Zwinger. On arrival we include a sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional boat ride on the Elbe. We stay overnight in Dresden.

Today’s first stop is Kromlauer Rhododendron Park where you can see the extraordinary ‘Rakotzbrucke’, also known as the devils bridge. Commissioned in 1860, the delicately arched bridge was specifically built to create a circle when reflected in the waters beneath. (Please note that the bridge is expected to be undergoing maintenance until 2022). Following a photo stop, we continue to the enchanting Spree Forest. We explore the sparkling labyrinth of fascinating green wetlands, thick forests and romantic streams by boat. This evening we arrive in Berlin for a two night stay.
Germany’s capital is a city with something for everyone, including fantastic gastronomic experiences, art, shopping, culture, history and much more. We include a sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city, pointing out and explaining the interesting stories behind the array of Berlin’s famous sights. We pass by the Brandenburg Gate and continue into former East Berlin where we see the famous Unter den Linden Street with the Cathedral and Humboldt University. The remainder of the day is at leisure, and with such a chequered past there is plenty for you to see and explore.
This morning we travel to Germany’s ‘pearl of the North’ Hamburg. Germany’s second largest city and biggest port, Hamburg’s nautical heritage and bustling port create an attractive and lively city filled with striking architecture and maritime charm. We continue our journey through Germany’s north with a morning visit to Bremen. Home to a unique expressionist quarter and famous for its history and traditions, and for the ‘Bremen Town Musicians’ from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Join an optional walking tour to discover the best of the city.
Later we continue to Düsseldorf, known for one of the most famous shopping streets in Germany; the Koenigsallee, known locally as the “Kö”. Enjoy a stroll along the Rhine Promenade, where you can see landmarks such as the Schlossturm tower or St. Lambertus church, or why not explore Burgplatz, where you can see the Schlossturm Tower and the Schiffahrt Museum (shipping museum), plus the Cartwheeler’s Fountain? You will have free time to explore, before we continue to our Dusseldorf hotel.

If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.
No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
You will stay in 3-star and 4-star hotels throughout the tour.
Front row seats can be reserved for £15pp (up to 6 days duration), £25pp (7 and 8 days duration), £30pp (9 to 11 days) or £35pp (12 days or more) on all European tours. This offer is only available for bookings of two or four persons on our Executive and Silver Service coaches and for one or two persons on our Luxuria coaches and is subject to availability. In addition to this, seats on the second row can be reserved for a supplement of £8pp (up to 6 days duration), £15pp (7 and 8 days duration), £18pp (9 to 11 days) or £22pp (12 days or more).
Guaranteed front or second row seats cannot be reserved on transfer journeys to/from the UK port. Occasionally, front and second row seats may be on a request only basis.
Please note: children under 15 years of age are not permitted to sit in the front seats of any coach.
On some coaches the legroom on front seats, central view seats and seats directly in front of the washroom may be slightly less than that available on other seats due to the presence of a modesty board in front.
If your tour is cancelled or merged for any reason and front or second row seats or central view seats or table seats are not available on your tour, you will be refunded any supplement paid. No other compensation will be payable.
Alternatively, we can take seating requests on your booking. However, requests are not guaranteed. All seat numbers are confirmed on travel documents approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.
Central View Seats are available to pre-book free of charge.
Table Seats are available to pre-book free of charge on our Luxuria coaches.
Transfer coaches are routed approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. The route taken depends on where paassengers are booked to travel from on any particular date as to which route is taken. If you require further detailed information regarding the route to the port you can contact our Customer Service Department on 01709 830333 two weeks before you are due to travel.
With regard to the route taken by the main tour coach, this is determined by the driver.
