Happy Christmas!
Morning included guided historical walk of Remagen with a mug of mulled wine. The small town of Remagen is famous for its bridge that fell into American hands in 1945 providing them with a passage across the Rhine, but then only days later the bridge collapsed under the sheer weight of their armoured vehicles. Today stands a Peace Museum within the remaining towers (closed in winter). Enjoy Christmas lunch.
Tonight, we enjoy a Christmas party with live band and festive buffet.
Included excursion, as we discover the Eifel region on board the Vulkan Express, a narrow gauge railway. The train will take you through one of the most scenic valleys of the Rhine from the half-timbered station at Burgbrohl to Engeln. The carriages are pulled by steam and diesel locomotives through the Brohl Valley where you will see volcanic formations, stone viaducts, castles and a monastery as you meander through the countryside.
