Today we travel into the centre of Prague, where we have an optional morning walking tour to introduce you to this beautiful capital, affectionately known as the ‘Golden Town’. The many historic buildings, grand squares and elegant landmarks such as Wenceslas Square, the famous Astronomical Clock and Charles Bridge make it a lovely place to explore on foot. Our local guide's informative commentary will reveal many of the stories behind the buildings and personalities which have shaped the history of this magnificent city. Following the tour, you have the chance to take in a different view of Prague by enjoying an optional cruise on the Vltava River. We leave Prague after breakfast and travel south past the Czech Republic’s second largest city of Brno, before crossing the border into Slovakia. We continue to the capital city of Bratislava, where we pause to admire the beautiful Habsburg Baroque architecture and the lively cosmopolitan atmosphere. We continue south, and skirting Austria, we cross the border into Hungary. We reach Budapest this evening where we will stay for two nights. This evening, we introduce you to the sights and lights of the city with our optional Budapest by Night excursion. Today, you will have the full day to discover the Hungarian capital of Budapest. The city is composed of two historically independent communities, Buda and Pest, separated by the majestic River Danube. Our optional guided sightseeing tour will introduce you to the city’s array of spectacular sights. We start with a panoramic view of the city from the top of the Gellert Hill and then continue by foot to the Liberty Statue, built in remembrance of the Soviet liberation of Hungary from Nazi forces during World War 2. We rejoin our coach and travel to the Pest side of the city to see the City Park and Heroes Square. We drive down Andrassy Avenue where we see the grand State Opera House and the beautiful St. Stephen's Basilica. This morning we leave the Vienna Woods/Stockerau area and make our way to Salzburg, one of the most beautiful cities in Austria. Why not join our optional guided walking tour to discover the wonderful sights. The walking tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and takes in the many sights and attractions of this famous alpine city. Admire the baroque splendour of the churches and cathedral, the might of the Hohensalzburg fortress and also the quaint Getriedegasse, which with its wrought iron signs that overhang the doors, is one of the most beautiful shopping streets of Austria. Salzburg is also known as the ‘Sound of Music’ city and during our tour you will see many sights featured in the film. A visit to Salzburg would not be complete without a mention of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and before the tour is over we see his former birthhouse and also the square that is named after and dedicated to the famous composer. If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.
No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
You will stay for two nights each at the 3-star Ibis Mala Strana, Hotel Golf or Hotel Occidental in Prague, a minimum 3-star hotel in Budapest such as the Danubius Flamenco Hotel, Ibis Styles City, or Hotel Budapest, and a 4-star hotel in the Vienna Woods area or the 4-star City Hotel in Stockerau. The 12-day tour will spend an extra night each in Prague and Budapest and a night in Bavaria or the Austrian Tyrol in a 3-star standard hotel. Overnight stays in Belgium will be in city-style hotels.
Front row seats can be reserved for £15pp (up to 6 days' duration), £24pp (7 & 8 days' duration), £26pp (9, 10 and 11 days' duration) and £30pp (12 days' duration and over) on all European tours. This offer is only available for bookings of two or four persons on the front row and is subject to availability. In addition to this, seats on the second row can be reserved for £8pp (up to 6 days duration), £15pp (7 & 8 days duration), £18pp (9, 10 and 11 days' duration) and £22pp (12 days' duration and over). Guaranteed front/second row seats cannot be reserved on transfer journeys to/from the interchange. Children under 15 years cannot occupy a front row seat due to French Law. Central view seats are free.
Please note: On some coaches the legroom on front seats may be slightly less than that available on other seats due to the presence of a modesty board in front.
If your tour is cancelled for any reason and front/second row seats are not available on your new tour, you will be refunded the supplement. No other compensation will be payable.

Transfer coaches are routed approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. The route taken depends on where paassengers are booked to travel from on any particular date as to which route is taken. With regard to the route taken by the main tour coach, this is determined by the driver.

On most holidays if you’d prefer to join your tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your car in the car park which is accredited by the Park Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. On Single Traveller holidays and coach holidays of 7 days’ duration or more, you don’t even have to think about getting to your local joining point. If you live within 20 miles of one of our free joining points we’ll pick you up from your home and take you to meet your transfer vehicle, then return you back home at the end of your holiday. The cost is from £40 per booking each way for up to four people per booking.
