Regional departure by coach, then to our hotel in northern France for a three night stay.
We spend the first day visiting the battlefields around Arras seeing some of the key sites connected with the battle here in April-May 1917 including the battlefield sites at the Pont du Jour, with a visit to the 9th (Scottish) Division cairn, the sunken lane at Fampoux, Monchy le Preux, Roeux and the Arras Memorial to the missing.
Today we will attend the official ceremony at Vimy Ridge for those who have registered for the event. Registration for the ceremony closed on the 17th February 2017 and those not attending the Vimy Ridge ceremony will spend the day at leisure in Arras. In addition, we will aim to visit other battlefield sites such as Bullecourt seeing where Australian and British soldiers fought in April-May 1917.
Return home.
