We continue past the tiny Horler Stiegl chapel around the Rosskopf peak. A day of choices today. Why not join our optional excursion to Innsbruck by coach. Alternatively, why not purchase the optional excursion to Innsbruck combined with a trip on board the Nordkettenbahnen where you will be transported from the bustle of the city centre high into the mountain terrain. If you choose not to visit Innsbruck then a hike to the Breiteggspitze is available. The hike starts bright and early at the Schonanger Alm. Depending on the weather we take either the forest path or the mountain path up to the Breitegg Alm. We continue over high pastures and sparse woodland and enjoy the truly inspiring panoramic views of the valley’s highest peak, the Grosser Beil and the Lampersberg Mountains (2309 and 2202 m respectively). The climb continues and our goal is in sight. Once we reach the summit we enjoy our packed lunches with an unforgettable backdrop and let the peace and quiet work its magic. On the way back we drop into the Schonanger Alm guesthouse for refreshments on the huge, sunny terrace.

The gentle walk takes us north to Stockeben through the fragrant pine forests full of bilberries. After about an hour and a half we reach the moor at 1000m altitude.
