Today we have an early start as we travel to the Wolf’s Lair. This bunker complex was Hitler’s headquarters in the East and was first used during Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union, in June 1941. It was also where the assassination attempt on his life took place on 20th July 1944, orchestrated by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg. We have a full day here to explore the site before returning to Gdansk.
