After breakfast today we explore the North Yorkshire Moors. We first arrive at Goathland, whose station is famous for being Hogsmeade in the 'Harry Potter' films and for featuring as Aidensfield in the ITV programme 'Heartbeat'. Here we board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, a preserved historic railway stretching for 18 miles through the heart of the North York Moors National Park.
Sit back, relax and take in the stunning scenery as we travel through this beautiful part of the country. We depart at Pickering station, another historic station often used in TV and films such as 'Downton Abbey'. Why not enjoy a cream tea in the station tea rooms? We will have some free time in Pickering to explore.
We then take a short drive to the charming market town of Helmsley. Explore the shops that line the market square or enjoy a coffee and cake in one of the many cafés! We then drive back over the moors to admire the stunning scenery and back to Whitby.
