Four Rivers Cruise – Rhine, Moselle, Neckar & Main

Please note for navigational and passenger safety, the cruise company and the captain reserve the right to modify the cruise itinerary if necessary. Sailing times are dependant on how busy the numerous locks are. At some ports of call, a degree of walking will be involved to join our coach. Due to limited docking facilities, it may be necessary to dock alongside another ship to access the shore.

Day 1

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to Belgium for an overnight stay.

On coach holidays of 7 days’ duration or more and Single Traveller coach holidays, you don’t even have to think about getting to your local joining point.

If you live within 20 miles of one of our free joining point, we’ll pick you up from your home and take you to meet your transfer coach, then return you back home at the end of your holiday. On European coach holidays of 7 days' or more, the cost of this is just £30 per booking each way (Up to 4 people per booking).

If you live a little further afield, you can also take advantage of this convenient option for an additional charge

Day 2 - Cologne

Travel to Cologne for free time. Explore the capital of the Rhineland, with its main focal point being the huge Dom (cathedral). Later, we board our cruise the ship, the MV Esmeralda, for our seven-night cruise.

Day 3 - Cologne to Winnengen

This morning we cruise down the Rhine to reach Koblenz, where we join the Moselle. We arrive in Winningen early this afternoon. Join our optional excursion by coach to Cochem, ‘the pearl of the Moselle’, a picturesque town spanning both sides of the river, with narrow streets and twisting alleyways lined with half-timbered houses.

Day 4 - Winningen to Rüdesheim

We rejoin the Rhine and enjoy a leisurely day cruising along this majestic river. Take in the passing scenery of fairtyale castles, steep vineyards, pretty villages. We cruise through the Rhine Gorge and past the famous Loreley Rock, before we arrive in Rüdesheim this afternoon. Visit the famous Drosselgasse and enjoy a beer or a glass of the local wine in one of the many bars and taverns.

Day 5 - Rüdesheim to Heidelberg

Leaving Rüdesheim early this morning, we arrive this afternoon in Heidelberg, which enjoys a stunning location on the banks of the River Neckar, dominated by its impressive castle. Explore the old town and browse the shops and boutiques of the bustling Hauptstrasse.

Day 6 - Heidelberg to Worms to Mainz

We leave Heidelberg and cruise along the Rhine to the historic riverside city of Worms, forever associated with Martin Luther. See St. Peter’s Cathedral, a magnificent example of Romanesque architecture and Nibelungenlied Bridge. We later continue our cruise to Mainz, strategically situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers.

Day 7 - Mainz to Frankfurt

We continue our cruise along the Main river to Frankfurt. Known as Main-hattan due to its incredible skyline of skyscrapers, Frankfurt also boasts an historic old quarter, home to one of the most beautiful town halls in Germany. After shopping and sightseeing, spend time on the riverside, watching the passing boats.

Day 8 - Frankfurt to Cologne

We rejoin the Rhine and cruise past pretty wine villages, later passing Koblenz and Bonn, arriving in Cologne later this evening.

Day 9

We disembark our ship and return home.

FAQ's about our tours

Certain excursions are included in the price of your holiday. If you choose not to go on an included excursion, for whatever reason, no refunds will be made.
Yes, you will receive one with your Travel Documents, which are sent 7-10 days before departure.
We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or guardian aged over 18 years old.

We do have holidays that are suitable for wheelchair users, however the person using the wheelchair will need to be able to get on and off the coach if a coach tour is booked. Our coaches are not suitable for someone who is wheelchair reliant as we can only take folding wheelchairs that are stored in the luggage compartment.

We cannot guarantee that assistance will be available for the disabled person / wheelchair user and such bookings will only be accepted if that person is travelling with an able-bodied person who is fully able to attend to the needs of his/her co-traveller.

Passengers travelling by Eurostar in standard class seats must be able to walk 200 yards (183 metres) unaided. Please note; only collapsible wheelchairs are permitted on board standard class Eurostar coaches, as these must be stored in the luggage storage areas. Any passengers who are wheelchair reliant are required to be allocated in the 'Standard Premier' coaches where wheelchair user spaces are located. As these spaces are limited to 1 per train you must advise us immediately if you require them in order that we can reserve with Eurostar.

Excursions on our tours visit places of interest and public buildings. These may not be able to accommodate people with walking difficulties and wheelchair access may not be available. Excursions which include sightseeing tours may involve walking long distances and sometimes over cobbled or uneven surfaces.

The accommodation we use on our tours may not have ground floor rooms and in some instances lifts will not always be available. Occasionally access to your hotel may involve walking distances from the coach park and some hotels have a flight of steps to the Reception.

It is very important that checks are made with regard to the suitability of a tour for you prior to you make any booking with us.
