The 3rd Battle of Ypres, popularly known as the Battle of Passchendaele, began on 31 July 1917 and raged through the next four months as summer turned to winter and the landscape of Flanders turned into a moonscape of shell holes filled with mud, muck and slime. Sadly too, it was the scene of over 300,000 British Army casualties. July 2017 marks the centenary of the start of this iconic battle which, along with The Somme, has come for many to symbolise The Great War.
During our stay, we visit sites around Ypres connected with the Third Battle including Hooge Crater, Zonnebeke, the Scottish Memorial on Frezenberg Ridge, Passchendaele village and Crest Farm Memorial, and the tank memorial at Poelcapelle. On the commemorations day on 12th July, we will attend events at Tyne Cot Cemetery for the official ceremony of remembrance.
We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will
consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or
guardian aged over 18 years old.

We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not
generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests
at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
