The principality of Andorra is a must for ardent shoppers and lovers of stupendous mountain scenery. The country, set high in the Pyrenees, has the highest life expectancy in the world and is very prosperous, due to tourism and its status as a tax haven. Today’s included excursion is to Andorra La Vella, where you will find bargains on all kinds of goods. Sightseeing opportunities in this old town include the Casa de la Vall (house of the valley), a 16th century building which has been used as Andorra’s Parliament since 1702. Enjoy the day exploring the delights of this mountain town.
Included, full-day visit to Barcelona, capital of the Catalan province. The city has a delightfully relaxed atmosphere – particularly along Las Ramblas, where you can join the locals, casually strolling along the tree-lined walkway. Barcelona boasts many amazing buildings designed during the artistic explosion of Modernism – Gaudi’s influence is everywhere. See the ‘Barri Gotic’, or Gothic Quarter in the centre of the Old Town, where some of buildings date back to medieval and Roman times. Last, but not least, take a stroll around the marina and enjoy watching the street entertainers.
Join our optional excursion to spend a day in three countries – Andorra, Spain and France. In the morning, we cross the border into Spain, to La Seu d’Urgell, one of the most historically important towns in the Catalan Pyrenees, named after the imposing cathedral (La Seu), a lovely, Romanesque building dating from the 11th and 12th centuries. We then visit the riverside town of Puigcerda, right on the border with France. Later, in the afternoon, we pause at the French Pyrenees ski resort of Font Romeu. We return to Andorra through Port d’Envalira.
We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will
consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or
guardian aged over 18 years old.
You will stay for four nights at the 3-star Hotel Vall Ski, situated close to El Tarter and Soldeu in Andorra. Surrounded by the spectacular mountain landscape, your hotel is a traditional mountain hotel, decorated in stone. It has a restaurant, bar and lift.
Overnight stays in the Paris area will be in city-style hotels.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not
generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests
at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
"Our favourite day was the three countries excursion, we got a great sample of more traditional towns in France, Spain and Andorra which most people never get to see"
