Today you have the full day to discover the Italian capital city of Rome on our included excursion. The Historic Centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with wonderful palaces, churches, basilicas, Roman ruins, monuments and fountains.
It has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere. There will be ample free time for you to explore this wonderful city at your leisure.
To make the most of your visit, why not join our optional guided sightseeing tour. The sightseeing tour takes place on both coach and foot and will introduce you to the city’s wonderful sights, including Piazza di Spagna with its famous steps, the Trevi Fountain and the mighty Colosseum (entrance not included).
Note: Although Rome is a relatively compact city, we would remind you that this is a walking tour, not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties and we would recommend you wear suitable shoes for the day.

To make the most of your visit why not join our optional guided walking tour? In 79AD the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the town of Pompeii in about 6/7 metres of stones and ash. Painstaking excavations, which are still ongoing, began in the 18th century and have uncovered a remarkable hidden city.
Accompany your expert guide around the town, walking along roads with indents from the passing of chariot wheels and discovering the remains of homes, shops and public baths. With a little imagination and the explanations of your guide, it is not hard to get a picture of life in the town all those years ago. An experience not to be missed! (Entrance into the ruins is included in the price of the walking tour).

Today we sail into the stunning region of Tuscany where our ship will dock in the delightful town of Livorno. Although it is not one of the most well-known Italian cities, it’s considered one of the most important in Italy, so you can be sure there is plenty to do for an enjoyable day on-shore.
There’s an abundance of historical sites, from the many towers, forts and the city walls to the Fortezza Nuova, lovingly known as New Venice.

Call into the Catalonian capital, Barcelona, an enchanting seaside city packed full with history, culture and breathtaking architecture.

Founded by the Romans some 2,100 years ago, Palma is vibrant city that is bursting with life. With over half of the population of Mallorca living in the capital, you can be sure that there’s plenty to see and do in this intimate and stylish city.

Today we explore another ancient wonder, Cartagena. With Roman ruins nestled in-between modern day buildings, this pretty town is an urban explorer’s paradise.
The Old Town is a UNESCO world heritage site, and maze of cobbled alleys, impressive churches and leafy plazas. Just taking a stroll around and soaking up the atmosphere will introduce you to the charms of Cartagena.
The Castle of Conception dates back to medieval times, the Punic Walls offer an insight into the Carthaginian Asdrubal in the year 277 B.C., there’s even a 1st-Century Roman theatre in this impressive historical town.

The highlight of southern Spain, Malaga is brimming with history and a youthful vigour. A Roman amphitheatre, a Moorish fortress and hill-top citadels, this fantastic city mad more to offer than you may think.
The birthplace of Pablo Picasso, there’s also an artistic flair to Malaga, with many museums, galleries and botanic gardens, it’s certainly a visual treat, too.
And, of course, the city doesn’t get its lively reputation for nothing, in fact, it’s a shopper’s paradise, complete with a marble-paved shopping street, Michelin starred restaurants and plenty of bars to choose from.

The ancient centre, surrounded almost entirely by water, is a romantic assortment of sinuous streets, municipal beaches and rambunctious taverns.

Lisbon is Portugal's feature attraction and has been the country's capital since 1147. Wander the narrow, cobblestone streets at your own leisurely pace, stopping along the way at a remarkable museum or 1930's era patio café.

The largest city of the Basque Country, Bilbao is magnificent mix of historic and spectacular modern architecture.
Head to Casco Viejo to meander medieval streets and sample some of the best pinxtos (tapas) around.
Also, don't miss the impressive, ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, featuring the works of leading artists of the 20th-Century. Clad in glimmering titanium, this enormous structure is a work of art itself.

Where the Seine River meets the English Channel, Le Havre was all but obliterated during WW2. France’s second-largest port city was entirely rebuilt in the years following the war.
Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Centre in 2005, the city has become something of an architectural hotspot, with modern masterpieces throughout the city, and one of a only a few European projects by the great Brazillian architect, Oscar Neimeyer, Le Volcon.
