Itinerary

Fly from either Gatwick or Stansted to Marrakech where you are met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay.

Today you have a full day in Marrakech. Your guide will take you into the Medina, a labyrinth of small streets and alleyways, filled with stalls selling everything imaginable, and an aroma of saffron and orange blossom among sacks of almonds piled high as mountains! The Menara, surrounded by magnificent gardens, is probably the most peaceful place in Marrakech, with its tranquil waters and the snow-capped mountains in the background. You will also see the 19th century Bahia Palace and the famous Djemaa El Fna Square with its fortune tellers, dancers, and snake charmers.

You leave Marrakech and head west towards the coast and the beautiful resort of Essaouria. This old walled town, still retains its ramparts and offers a beautiful sandy beach and a relaxed atmosphere. Essaouria is the perfect spot to enjoy a fish lunch, surrounded by the pretty blue and white painted houses. Later in the day, you head to Casablanca for an overnight stay.

You spend the morning in Casablanca, with time to visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, second only in size to the famous Mosque in Mecca. Later head to Rabat, the Imperial Capital, where you visit the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. You also visit the Tour Hassan, sister to the Giralda in Spain, and the Oudayas. Afterwards, we head to Fez for a three-night stay.

Your included visit to Fez begins in the old Medina, the Andalusian and the Karaouine Quarter with its dyers, tanners and artisans working in the style of their forefathers. You also take in the Mellah – the Jewish Quarter, with its old cemetery and the Royal Palace

Today’s excursion is to Meknes one of Morocco’s most beautiful imperial cities. Originally founded in the 11th century as a military settlement, this city combines Islamic and European styles within its high walls and great gates.

We journey to Marrakech for a one night stay. Dinner this evening is at the fabulous Chez Ali Fantasia, where troupes of folklore artists entertain and charging horsemen fire their rifles into the air whilst pulling their horses to a halt – a tribal display of strength.

Day 8 - Today you will be transferred to Marrakesh airport for the flight home.
