Itinerary

Travel from your local joining point to the Channel and then an overnight stay in Belgium or Northern France.

Leave your hotel after breakfast and make your way to Austria for a six-night stay.

Following a free morning in resort travel to the mountain village of Alpbach, once voted ‘Austria’s most beautiful village’, with its picture-postcard geraniums adorning the window boxes. Then visit the smallest town in Austria, Rattenberg, famous for its glass-blowing and quaint souvenir shops.

Today’s excursion which firstly visits the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls, where the Krimml River thunders down over 1000 feet in three mighty stages at the foot of the Gerlos Pass. The views are considered to be unsurpassed throughout Europe. Then continue along the Salzach Valley and over the Thurn Pass to the internationally-renowned resort of Kitzbühel. Here you have some free time to explore this splendid walled town with its brightly painted buildings. Make sure you enjoy a drink and strudel in one of the pavement cafés.

Today visit the ‘Sound of Music’ city of Salzburg, home of the Von Trapp family and also the birthplace of Mozart. A guided sightseeing tour will enable you to enjoy the lovely squares, medieval lanes and Gothic churches of this beautiful Alpine city. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Today’s visit is to the crystal clear Lake Mondsee, one of the largest lakes in the region and also one of the warmest. Spend time in the delightful and principle resort of Mondsee, located on the banks of the lake. Mondsee is home to the Basilica of St. Michael, the famous wedding church where Maria married Georg von Trapp in the film ‘The Sound of Music’. This is the reason why more than 200,000 people visit the church every year and make it one of the most photographed churches in the world. Then continue to St Gilgen, birthplace of Mozart’s mother and home to one of the most attractive town squares in Austria. Here you can stroll along the lakeside, explore the shops or relax in one of the cafes.
