Steeped in history, the Bordeaux region of France offers a range of true holiday delights. From picturesque scenery, national treasures, and of course, some of the world’s most renowned wines. And, what better way to see it that on a relaxing river cruise along the Garonne and Gironde rivers? You will sail on the MS Cyrano De Bergerac complete with a sundeck, lounge, restaurant and bar.

    Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to the Paris area for an overnight stay. Alternatively, fly to Paris and stay overnight.

    To the Loire Valley, visiting the pretty town of Blois and Château de Chambord, one of the most impressive Renaissance buildings in the Loire Valley, situated in vast parkland. We stay for one night in the medieval town of Chinon.

    To Bordeaux in the centre of the wine-growing region where, after some free time we board our ship for a five-night cruise. Enjoy a welcome cocktail party, followed by dinner and entertainment.

    We cruise down the River Garonne and then join the River Gironde, passing Patiras Island before arriving at Pauillac at lunchtime. Join our included excursion to the Médoc – a renowned region off the beaten track, where the most famous of all red wines in the world are cultivated. We pass through many of the great Médoc appellations, following the famous Châteaux Route. We berth in Pauillac overnight.

    We set sail early this morning, cruising to the Gironde estuary, passing Meschers-sur-Gironde with its steep cliffs, Troglodyte houses and fishermen’s huts, before arriving in Blaye. Join our included excursion by coach along the Corniche, or cliff route. The scenery here is an unusual combination of river, rocks and vines. We stop at the charming village of Bourg, built on a rocky outcrop enclosed by medieval ramparts then return to Blaye, with its citadel.

    We cruise past the island of Cazeau, then join the Garonne River, arriving in Cadillac in time for lunch. This afternoon, join our optional excursion to the world-famous ‘wine’ village of Saint-Emilion, where you can sample the wines

    We cruise to Bordeaux. Enjoy free time before tonight’s gala dinner and dancing.

    We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or guardian aged over 18 years old.

    You will cruise for five nights on board CroisiEurope’s 3-star superior ship, the MS Cyrano De Bergerac. The vessel is air-conditioned and has three decks – main, middle and upper – plus a sun deck. Facilities include a bar, restaurant and lounge. All cabins have en suite facilities and a safe.

    Overnight stays in Chinon and the Paris area will be in city-style hotels.

    We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.

    We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
