A spectacular Christmas in Salzburg & Bavaria

The perfect setting for a fairy tale Christmas, join us as we take a holiday of some of Austria and Germanys’ most beautiful regions. We begin in the ‘Sound of Music’ city of Salzburg, on Christmas Eve, where you can take in the cities famous sights, or do some last minute shopping at the Christmas markets. On Christmas day, why not join us for a festive tour to Austria’s picturesque Lake District, Salzkammergut. See snow-capped mountains, and glistening lakes, as you take in the breath-taking winter wonderland. On Boxing Day, we cross the border into Bavaria, where you’ll pay a visit to the beautiful towns of Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden.

Full-day included excursion into Salzburg. We enjoy a guided tour and explore this enchanting city encircled by mountains and dominated by the mighty Hohensalzburg Fortress. See the splendid Baroque buildings of the Old Town. You’ll also have plenty of free time to explore at your own pace or visit the charming Christmas markets for some last-minute shopping. Return to our hotel for mulled wine and dinner.

Optional excursion to the Salzkammergut, Austria's picturesque lake district, a snow-covered winter wonderland of towering mountain peaks, sparkling lakes and pretty villages. We head to Mondsee and see the church that featured in the film 'The Sound of Music'. Later, we continue to the picturesque lakeside resort of St. Wolfgang.

Included excursion, as we cross the border into Bavaria. We start our day with a visit to the town of Bad Reichenhall where you can stroll around the centre, or perhaps enjoy an optional tour of the historic old salt works. We continue on to Berchtesgaden, where we have time to visit the town, dominated by its castle. We also see the beautiful Lake Königsee.
