Battle of Loos Anniversary

The Battle of Loos was fought in September-October 1915 when British troops, under the command of Sir John French, attacked in the northern French coalfields around the village of Loos. It was meant to be the ‘Big Push’ that would end the war, but ended in costly failure and Sir John French was dismissed. It was also the first time large numbers of men from the New Army – Kitchener’s Army – went into battle on the Western Front. Join us on this tour which visits the battlefield for the anniversary period.
