The Bregenz Opera is a part of the impressive Bergenz performing arts Festival held every year where theatre, opera performances and numerous other events contribute to a bold and artistic profile. Join us as we head to Bregenz and enjoy the performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera, Rigoletto, performed on the world’s largest floating stage.

Tour Itinerary

Certain excursions are included in the price of your holiday. If you choose not to go on an included excursion, for whatever reason, no refunds will be made.
Yes, you will receive one with your Travel Documents, which are sent 7-10 days before departure.
We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or guardian aged over 18 years old.

    This morning we travel to one of the prettiest spots on Lake Constance, Lindau. Here you will have time at leisure to admire the famous harbour, considered to be the most attractive on the whole of the lake.

    Explore the delightful old town with its old streets and gabled burghers’ houses, many built during the period when the town was an important trading centre.

    This evening we travel to Bregenz to see our included performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Rigoletto, performed on the world’s largest floating stage on Lake Constance.

    Please note: The Bregenz Festival policy is to proceed with open-air performances in all weathers, therefore we recommend visitors to bring waterproof clothing, but not umbrellas, as these will obstruct the view. However should the weather be too bad for the opera to be performed on the Lake Stage our tickets will enable us to attend the performance in the Festival House.

    Today you will have the opportunity to join us on our fantastic optional excursion to Zurich.

    Although the largest city in Switzerland, Zurich promotes itself as the ‘little big city’ and has a historic centre, compact enough to be explored on foot.

    You will have time at leisure to explore the city. Be sure to see Zurich’s most familiar landmarks, the Fraumunster and Grossmunster churches, which face each other across the magnificent River Limmat.

    Located at the crossroads of Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria, Bregenz is a fascinating place to start the day.

    You have free time in Bregenz, during which you will be able to see the town’s landmark, the Tower of St Martin. Dating back to the 12th century the tower is the oldest baroque building on Lake Constance.

    During the day you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional cruise on the lake from Bregenz to the town of Meersburg, located on the north shore of the lake.

    You will also have time to explore the narrow streets and terraces of the charming village centre before returning to the hotel.

    If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.

    We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.

    We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.

    You will stay for four nights at the 4-star Alpenhotel Mittagspitze. Located with picturesque views towards the surrounding Damuls Mountains, the Alpenhotel Mittagspitze offers comfortable rooms with bathroom, TV and a restaurant/bar serving regional dishes complemented by the gorgeous views of the Damuls Mountain panorama.

    Overnight stays in Belgium will be in city-style hotels.

      Why not go the night before your tour for a relaxing start?

      You can park for FREE for up to nine days at the Holiday Inn Ashford North and enjoy an overnight stay with English breakfast from just £39.50 per person (Based on 2 sharing a twin/double room on a B&B basis, subject to availability. Single supplements and terms and conditions apply.) We’ll then collect you from the hotel on the day of departure and return you there at the end of your holiday.

      On most holidays if you’d prefer to join your tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your car in the car park which is accredited by the Park Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. Payment for the parking is made on arrival using the self-service machines. Excludes holidays to Ireland and the U.K. and tours travelling via Brittany Ferries.
