As a birthday treat for my husband, I booked the Twixmas in Bruges tour. He like Medieval buildings and tasting local beers. Also the visit to Ypres was something we both wanted to do.

The first day we had a short stroll into the main square. This was a magical sight with the historic buildings and horse and carriages. The Christmas markets were selling unique gifts and the aroma of the vast variety of food was tempting. We watched people ice skating as we ate our food. We then did some sightseeing and shopping in the fascinating lace shops. The chocolate shops are amazing and the chocolate is the best. Later we joined our coach at the hotel for the excursions to Ypres. We had a short stroll to the square. There we saw the beautiful Cloth Hall which is not to be missed, and the lovely shops and bars. We went to the Menin Gate at 8pm for the very moving Last Post Ceremony.

The second day we joined our coach for our trip to Brussels. In Brussels we did some sightseeing and walked through the arcade where there are some unique chocolate houses and extra special shops. Brussels also has some wonderful historic buildings. In the evening we had a meal in Bruges and tasted the beers at the local bar.

On the third day on our way back to Calais we had a short stop at Ostend taking in the lovely sea air, also a nice cup of coffee was offered to us when we got back on the coach. Our tour was so special we can’t decide what the highlight was as there were too many magical moments. Bruges is very enchanting, and the itinerary was spot on.

The tour was everything we expected and more. The coach was very clean and comfortable, and the facilities and refreshments were excellent. The coach drivers Jim and David were very professional and friendly, they had decorated the coach for Christmas, which added to the holiday spirit for everyone. They gave us maps for Bruges and Brussels. We were also taken from the coach to the main square in Brussels by Dave, so we had a better idea of where we were.

We stayed at the Olympia Hotel in Bruges was an excellent location, with a short stroll into the centre of Bruges. The staff were outstanding, the room was very clean. The breakfast was lovely, and the bar served bar snacks which were very tasty and reasonably priced.

We have travelled with Leger Holidays before, The Taste of Europe at Twixmas, also Arc De Triomphe Paris which we have booked again this year and also a Rhine Cruise. We know that we will enjoy our up and coming holidays with Leger, from our previous holidays with the company.

We had a magical, relaxing, unforgettable, outstanding holiday.
