A 4-Star Taste of Europe at Twixmas

Enjoy a short break by coach combining Germany’s Cologne and Monschau, with the Dutch town of Valkenburg, from our base in delightful Hasselt in Belgium. The tour begins with a full day visit to the German city of Cologne. Set on the River Rhine, the 2000-year old city houses amazing architecture - make sure you pay a visit to the Gothic Dom with its famous twin spires. We then pass through the Eifel Hills into the German town of Monschau, where we’re greeted with half-timbered houses and welcoming taverns. Crossing the border into Holland, spend time exploring the quaint, cobbled alleyways of Valkenburg, a Dutch hidden gem. You’ll not want to miss this tremendous Twixmas holiday!

Local departure by coach then to Hasselt in Belgium for a three-night stay.

A full-day included excursion into Germany to the Cathedral city of Cologne. With a picturesque setting on the banks of the romantic River Rhine, enjoy some free time to explore this cosmopolitan and modern metropolis which is home to traditional buildings, stylish boutiques, green parks and numerous breweries. The city’s skyline is dominated by the twin spires of the beautiful Gothic Dom, which houses the shrine to the Three Wise Men and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Traditional pubs and restaurants showcase the varied local cuisine; whether relaxing on the Rhine promenade or drinking a Kolsch in one of the typical breweries, Germany’s fourth largest city offers an array of choice for every visitor.
