6-Day Break

• Dec 29 – Travel to Holyhead, then by ferry to Ireland. Break up our journey with an overnight stay in Carlow. D
• Dec 30 – Cork (included). Travel to Cork, Ireland’s third city. This important seaport is also home to numerous fine pubs. Our next stop is Blarney Castle and the worldfamous Blarney Stone (entrance extra), where tradition has it that kissing the stone will give the gift of flattery and successful lying! We continue to our hotel in Glengarriff for three nights. B,D
• New Year’s Eve – Killarney (included). This morning we head around the Ring of Kerry, and witness the dramatic scenery, picturesque villages and fishing towns of this mystical land. We also spend time in Killarney, Gateway to the Ring of Kerry. This popular resort boasts a host of shops, pubs and restaurants and is a favoured haunt of holidaymakers, who become absorbed by the cheerful atmosphere and infectious Kerry humour of the families who have run jaunting cars for generations. Head back to our hotel for our New Year’s Eve party B,D
• New Year’s Day – Beara Peninsula (included). A leisurely morning before we head around the Beara Peninsula – breathtaking views await as we tour this bygone haunt of smugglers. B,D
• Jan 2 – Dublin (included). Travel to Dublin, which is stepped in history and culture. Join our sightseeing tour (optional), as we explore the many architectural faces and features around the city, from Georgian Dublin to the modern shops on O’Connell Street and Grafton Street. Continue to our overnight hotel on the outskirts of the city. B
• Jan 3 – We journey to the port for the ferry to Holyhead, then return home. B
