You’ll stay for five nights at the 3-star Best Western Winnock Hotel, which surrounds the pretty village green in the village of Drymen, situated to the east of Loch Lomond. Comfort and character are well combined in this former 18th-century inn in the heart of Scotland’s first National Park. There is a restaurant and the Ptarmigan bar, with its fine selection of whiskies, and all bedrooms have colour satellite T.V., telephone and tea/coffee-making facilities. During the week on one of the evenings, a traditional Scottish night is included, which features pipers, Highland dancers and music and song, showcasing Scotland’s often colourful history.
