Itinerary

6-Day Break

• Day 1 – To the Glasgow area for an overnight stay.
• Day 2 – Highland Touring Route(included). We travel on north and soon the scenery becomes ‘highland’ as we reach the banks of Loch Lomond, then climb across the beautiful plateau of Rannoch Moor to descend through perhaps Scotland’s most famous glen, Glencoe. We make a short stop at the excellent Visitor Centre, then continue north via Fort William and Loch Laggan, where scenes from the T.V. series ‘Monarch of the Glen’ were filmed. We arrive at our hotel in Grantown-on-Spey for a three-night stay. B,D
• Day 3 – Scottish Specialities (included). A day of fantastic scenery and also a day of temptation! Through Speyside to Aberlour for a visit to the Walker’s Shortbread factory shop, then to the Cathedral city of Elgin to the Johnston’s Cashmere Visitor Centre. In the afternoon, we visit the Baxter’s Highland Village at Fochabers. To complete the day, we visit the malt whisky distillery of Glenfiddich at Dufftown. B,D
• Day 4 – Culloden and Inverness(optional). Our excursion today takes in the Battlefield of Culloden Moor, where the last battle fought on British soil took place in 1746. See the Visitor Centre before spending time in the ‘Capital of the Highlands’, Inverness, and enjoy a cruise on mysterious Loch Ness. B,D
• Day 5 – Highland Touring Route(included). Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Cairngorms, through the rugged glens of Truim, Garry and the Pass of Killiecrankie to the resort town of Pitlochry. We continue on to the Glasgow area for our last night. B
• Day 6 – Homeward bound. B
