10-Day Break
- Day 1 – Fly to Berlin where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Berlin for 2 nights.
- Day 2 – Berlin with sightseeing tour (optional) Germany’s capital city is one of the finest in Europe, with so many sights. On our optional sightseeing tour with local guide we see the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden, the Royal Palace, the Berliner Dom, Alexanderplatz and the TV Tower, and the Kurfürstendam and Zoo areas. B
- Day 3 – Into Poland passing Szcezcin and Koszalin to Gdansk for 2 nights. B,D
- Day 4 – Gdansk with sightseeing tour (included) Gdansk is Poland’s principal sea-port on the Baltic and famous for its historical splendours as well as being the birthplace of the Solidarity movement under Lech Walesa. On our included sightseeing tour we explore the Old Town of Gdansk with its historical buildings, charming medieval streets and gothic churches as well as seeing the bathing resort and spa town of Sopot. - Day 5 – Malbork and Zelazowa Wola (included). En route to Warsaw we visit the picturesque town of Malbork, world-famous for its 13th century Gothic Castle, once the seat of the Order of the Teutonic Knights, and one of the most attractive castles in Europe. We include guided sightseeing of Malbork. We also call at the village of Zelazowa Wola, which became famous in the 19th century, as it was the birthplace of Poland’s brilliant composer, Frederic Chopin. The birthplace is a manor house which houses a biographic Museum, and is situated in the middle of a beautiful park.. B,D
- Day 6 – Warsaw (included) and sightseeing tour (optional) Almost totally destroyed during the Second World War, the city was rebuilt in only 13 years and is Poland’s grand capital. Explore on your own or why not join our optional sightseeing tour which reveals the delights of the Royal Route with its churches, statues and aristocratic residences. See also the Old City, Chopin’s Monument, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and St John’s Cathedral during the tour. B,D
- Day 7 – Jasna Gora (included) On the way from Warsaw to Krakow, we call at the town of Czestochowa, home of the imposing Jasna Gora Monastery, an important pilgrimage destination for many centuries, as it houses the icon of the Virgin Mary with Christ, known as the Black Madonna, widely believed to have been the cause of many miracles. We include a guided tour. B,D
- Day 8 – Krakow with sightseeing tour (included) Wieliczka Salt Mines (optional) Krakow’s Old Town is placed on the UNESCO list of protected World Historic Sites on account of its fabulous architecture. As the former capital of Poland, the city was the home of the royal residence for centuries and was the only major city in the country to escape the ravages of World War II. During our included sightseeing tour you will see the delights of the Old Town and the magnificent Wawel Castle, impressively situated on a hilltop overlooking the Vistula River. In the afternoon join our optional tour to the Salt Mines at nearby Wieliczka. Walk down through the impressive galleries and see fantastic sculptures carved out of the rock salt, before ascending by lift. B,D
- Day 9 – Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains (included) Join our excursion to the fine resort of Zakopane. Although situated in a wide valley, the town is the highest in Poland and superbly situated at the foot of the lofty Tatra Mountains. B,D
- Day 10 – Return flight from Krakow B
